I like smut manga but i can't help but wonder does smut counted as porn?
I am a gal and i never watch porn before...so i really don't know....
Somehow i don't want smut to be counted....but the materials are quite similar to porn
So is there anything to distinguish btw them?
What do girls think?

If it was just a small factor, then it might be mature reading or something, but not as the main focus.

When I'm reading something classified as smut I'm definitely expecting to read a sex scene or something just as bad. So I count it as porn just more softcore, I guess. But that doesn't mean I see it as porn though because it isn't as hardcore.
But well porn basically has no plot. And some smutty mangas do, that's how I distinguish the two anyway.

Well, I would say that in a way, it is porn, but a lot softer since it is female aimed.
I mean, real porn is super raunchy and I find it gross.
Smut, on the other hand, doesn't depict really graphic things, and there is usually more emotion and plot involved with it. Like the two people being in love with each other.
So I guess you could consider it porn, but it's really more emotional than sexual in some ways.

you don't seem to understand but there's hentai with beter story than classic manga... hentai isn't always just about a girl getting fucked in every hole in 25 page.
People that say smut isn't porn are just saying so because they think it's a good thing not to read porn and are proud of themselve for not reading them, but you should try some hentai with good story and see for yourself, you might be surprised...
For me smut is more like erotic manga than porn but i often consider some smut manga to be porn, because it get me excited, on the other hand some hentai are so "lovely" that i find myself not excited but just happy to read a good story about two person have sex because they just love each other...
