What were you afraid of when you were younger? Be it the monster under the bed or in the closet or the dark, did something frighten you or were you a little hellion beast that was afraid of nothing?

My biggest fear when I was younger was of escalators. I would scream and have panic attacks each time I had to go near one until everybody learned to accommodate me and not make me try to ride one. I've gotten over that fear though.

I did have normal fears though too. I was terrified of the dark, and I even still sleep with a light on if I've had a particularly trying day. I was, and still am, also deathly afraid of heights.

MY dad had a paper mach`e mask that looked like a shrunken head zombie monster with real human hair. When I was home alone with him, he would wait until I wasn't paying attention and then turn off all the light in the house and go hide with the mask on. Usually I was watching TV or playing toys (I was between the ages of 2 and 7 when he would do this) and he would call my name from somewhere in the house. At this point I would notice the house was completely dark and silent and I would start to cry cuz I hated being by myself in the dark house. SO I would start turning on lights and walking around the house trying to find my dad......

and he would jump out of a closet or jump down from the attic in the hallway and scream a blood curdling inhuman scream and I would flee in terror. I have no memory of anything tha would happen after that. My dad says he would usually find me crying and cowering in a corner somewhere and he would have a good laugh.

Parents are fun.

It could be anything under the bed. I had a friend that was afraid that a monster would eventually pop out of her toy chest. She was really careful to go into it, and would panic when someone else got brave and went to it.

🤣 My dad used to scare me too! Like at night after watching a horror movie, he would usually go outside and knock on my window or call my name in a creepy voice, or sometimes ask me if I see/hear something 'cause he said he feels like there's a ghost somewhere in the house. I loved it though!

I was a tough kid, I wasn't afraid of monsters under the bed/closet 'cause I always thought that my dad was tougher than any of them and would beat them up if they came out of there.

I don't think I was afraid of anything back then... 😀

When I was 6 or 7, I watched Wrath of the Ninja. There were a lot of monsters and they kept me company for a quite long time 🤣
And there was also the Big Bad Wolf thing. Or the witch from the forest. They were supposed to come and take me away, if I wasn't a good child.

I'm so bad I can't even use a stepping stool. I don't know why. I think its because I have really bad balance issues.

Oh, when I was little, I watched scary Hmong movies and got creeped out. I remember one movie about this ugly guy who had a wife but married a second one. Then he killed his first wife and cut off her head. She came back to haunt him. When I was younger, at night, I would think that I hear her coming into my room. 😢

Then a year later, I attempted to watch another one. This one had another ugly guy who had no wife at all. Then he started to hang around this younger girl (like in the 20's). He started to dream about her every night and one night, he was in her lap and she was smiling at him. Then the screen suddenly changed into a scary face of a blue-faced human with makeup to look like a ghost. The ghost come on screen so suddenly that I freaked out. My cousin jumped out of his chair and started screaming, lol. That night, and the nights of the following week, I was scared to shower by myself, since I would always that that particular ghost would peek around the curtains when I'm showering. Lol. >.<

Warn: Banned

I'm still afraid of that hairy thing hiding in the shadows, behind me, in front of me when I close my eyes. Is it there? Does it exist? I don't dare to find out.

I was deathly afraid of Claymation. For some reason, just seeing those odd little clay dolls moving around on screen frightened me. I even remember this one time, when my dad was gone off to out restaurant to pick up the employees and I thought I was alone in the house. This was when I was about 4 or so. My mom was in the garage, but I thought I was all alone. Then, while watching television, wouldn't you know it; a Claymation short came on. I instantly panicked and ran out of the house, intending to go to the restaurant that was about 15 minutes away.

Looking back, I'm surprised how I was afraid of the Claymation short on television and not of the darkness outside.
