Negima! Magister Negi Magi Ending
This year's 10th issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine is announcing on Wednesday that Ken Akamatsu will end his Negima! Magister Negi Magi manga after three more chapters. However, he will first take a two-issue hiatus to prepare for the end, so the series will return in this year's 13th issue of the magazine on February 29. The finale will not come until this year's 15th issue in March, at the earliest.
Akamatsu launched the manga in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2003, and Kodansha is publishing the 37th compiled book volume this month. Del Rey Manga began publishing the manga in North America, but Kodansha USA took over publishing duties for this title and others in 2010. The manga inspired a television anime series, several video anime releases, a live-action series, a film, and a few manga spinoffs.
So ending is near...

A little sad 🙁 But it was already time, though. And now Bleach is entering final arc, too... Wonder if the same thing will happen to Naruto 😕 well, sooner or later

Oh... oh god.... And I only just found out about Bleach ending a few minutes ago too (although I don't expect the arc to be a short one).

It's not really a surprise, though. It's felt like "the end is near" for the past few chapters.

I am intuitively concluding that he's preparing for a sequel. After the last few chapters, and with the 'Alternate Ending' Anime, I've already felt that it was the proper time to close this story, but at the same time, time to prepare for what's to come next. I dunno. It's just probably me grasping on to any hope left.
'Mahou Sensei Negima Z!' anyone?

This series, like Bleach, should have ended very shortly after the main boss fight, i.e. Aizen from Bleach and the team of mages Negi. Now they're sucking every bit of profit they can out of a series. I say good riddance. A series can be great chapters 1-400, but those last 10+ chapters of nothingness and pathetic fight scenes make me hate the series as a whole. Because of that and other obviously factors, I'd never recommend either series. 😔 😔
-No longer do I quote great scholars, the famous, etc. Kids feigning wisdom ruined it.

I swear, so many people on this site are so full of themselves. A lot seem to think they always have an "intelligent and/or logical" point or show signs of a superiority complex. They never admit they're wrong. Maybe partially, but excuses abound! :\

all that build up and only a couple of chapters left....I can already see the last page...a frozen princess with negi at its side.
One side of me is happy that all these long series have finally an ending (don't know how many times I wanted to give up reading it...fillers, dragging on, etc...), and the other is sort of sad that this "might" be a rush ending + makes me feel old like "wow, since I started reading this, i've had two graduations..." sigh..that's a lot of yrs....

The way I see it, there are three possibilities:
- The next three chapters will be really long.
- The series will end and there will be a sequel with a new title (since Negi won't be a teacher anymore).
- Akamatusu is lying and the story will still go on for quite a bit longer.

No. You guys aren't thinking this through! You can't possibly think a sequel would be good, right? I mean, what do you think would happen if the sequel shows us that a few years later, most of the Class 3-A girls end up getting boyfriends? That's as good as netorare to all the fans. That kind of sequel can't possibly last long or stand up to the original in terms of popularity. All it would do is dissuade people from reading the original Negima.
As long as there's such a possibility, please, don't pray for a sequel.

No one ever said that a sequel would have the girls getting boyfriends. Just because he won't be their teacher anymore doesn't mean that they'd stop going after him. The only reason I think that there would be a new series is simply because you can't call it Magical Teacher Negi if he isn't a teacher anymore. Basically the same story, picking up right where the last chapter left off, just with a different name.
