I'm clinging desperately to the hope that there'll be a sequel series set sometime in the future. After all, the situation with Nagi is as-of-yet unresolved, and Asuna's hundred-year sleep seems perfectly tailored to the idea of a second series.

i agree he cant just end it like this...
but then again they sad that a sequel of veritas would follow and it was even set up quite good to the ending of the first season but it never did....so in the end there was no real end...to many questions were just unanswered....

While I agree that Veritas quite deserved a second series, there were some serious issues with the publisher that prevented it. This is not the case with Negima. Also, the great disparity between the ending of the recent anime movie and the events in the manga suggest a long-term plan for further publication.

A sequel dealing with the world of a hundred years later would be a much better story. You could have Asuna wake up, and maybe she would retain her personality and meet Chao, who wouldn't know her at all. Together, they could go find Negi and Eva, who would probably be missing/hiding. But there won't be a harem with just a female lead, which is the author's specialty, so maybe there will be a new male lead.

If he can somehow tie it all together in 3 chapters I will be both extremely happy and shocked.
The odds are against him, as long as there's a decent resolution to this all sequel or not we'll all be happy but damn I don't think it's conceivable.
Waiting on someone to list all the things that need to be explained, so far copy pasted from someone else on reddit.
"What about Lifemaker-Nagi? Who is Albreo Imma? Who is Zecht? Who is Albert Chammomile working for? Who killed Sayo? Where is Arika? What is there in Istanbul? Will everyone at Wales be unpetrified? What will happen to Eva's curse?"

My thoughts exactly. But I'm sort of hoping for a time gap in between. I want 16-17 year old Negi. The 10-year-old Negi character has gotten old in a way.
