-- and another thing, doesnt going back in time bring back Gannondorf and kind of re-do the whole series of events...if you kick his arse in the future, but go back to the past isnt he revived.
You don't really have to worry about that. One of two possibilities exists: Adult Link will take care of it, and Young Link can go about the seven years he missed, hiding out to avoid any silly paradoxes occurring, or Zelda sent Link back far enough that Ganondorf wasn't able to encroach upon the Spirit Realm, and therefore never attained the triforce.

My least favorite video game characters would be:
The entire cast of Final Fantasy VIII
The entire cast of Final Fantasy IX
Colette Brunell and Genis Sage from Tales of Symphonia
and Shirley Fennete from Tales of Legendia
Ugh, god, Shirley. Senel could have been bearable were it not for her.
I've never been hugely fond of FF characters, though I can usually stand them (and there are a select few I actually like). Rinoa, on the other hand... Yeahno.
Pretty much and female lead's bound to irritate me, really.
Shirley was a horrible character. That game would have been so much better if she was just cut out and Chloe had been the female lead instead.
Female leads in RPGs are usually fairly useless. There are a few good ones though. Tear from Tales of the Abyss is probably one of my all time favorite video game characters and she's the female lead there. Then of course there are the rare RPGs where the main character is female and they're usually good. FFVI's Terra was always cool in my book.

Those spiky red creatures in Mario Brothers, I think on lvl 4. Man, those things were killer, and irritating.

I would have to say I liked both of these much better than FFVII. I dunno why everyone hypes up that game. I grew bored pretty fast. Other than Cloud looking like a badass he didn't have much else going for him. I'd have to say that XIII had much more memorable and developed characters. That should rile up a few people. Although, that was my opinion from many years ago. I should play the game again to see if I've changed my mind. Also, FFIX was my favorite of all the FF series.
To be on topic, I'd have to agree and say that damn dog from Duck Hunt! Tell me you haven't tried to shoot him? I bet you can't or you're a liar. Also, Navi from Ocarina of Time and Slippy from Star Fox 64.

FFVII is severely overrated. it's far from my favorite in the series either. Still, in my opinion it has far better characters than IX and VIII. I played those games and found I didn't like anyone (IX's characters bore me; VIII's seem personality devoid ad the main character is one of the least appealing I've ever seen) whereas VII all the characters were somewhat appealing (but especially Tifa, Yuffie, Vincent, and Barret).
I have never played XII so I have no opinion of it. The best game in the series is easily FFVI, or if it counts the original FF Tactics.

You sick bastard.
FFVII is overrated, doesn't take away from the fact that it's good though and also that it spawned one of the greatest villians in gamedom, Sephiroth. 😎
I hate Caith Sith - FFVII. @_@

Agreed. FFVIII was so much better in my opinion.
Of course Sephiroth is a semi-god.

I quote the entire FFVIII cast. Just the fact that they all grew up together gives you zero background, which (aside the plot and the gameplay) should be the best point in a rpg. Also the gameplay was really stupid, if you equip the correct gf you can give a punch to other allies and cure them for 9999 hp using the right element, and you can level from 10 to 99 in a few hours in the hell island.
And again, FFVII is the game which practically sold the psx, to me it's underrated, not overrated. You also have to keep in mind the year of production. All the people who played it when it has been released know what I mean, it was a HUGE improvement from the previous JRPGs (even if I've to admit that FFVI was really a great game, and is this one which is underrated, probably only because it was a SNES game and that's a pity 'cause it features a great plot and awesome characters).
I also challenge all you guys to find a game which spawned an internet legend as famous as the one about the revive of Aerith.

Stay Puft Marshmellow Man from the Ghostbusters game on Sega Genesis. Creepy as hell waddling back and forth in the windows while you're in a dilapidated, ghost-filled apartment complex.
