It's a comic that was uploaded onto the internet. It's hardly the peak of investigative journalism.

And yes, it's probably racist, but there are racists all over the internet, claiming to have facts and evidence support their bullshit. Please, read these things with a grain of salt.

if anything the investigations was just anecdotes of maybe 2 or 3 idols (even maybe 1) about how they became a idol/their experiences while they were a idol etc.

And let's not forget the other Asian races going to Korea for plastic surgery. There were even reports of people not being able to leave because they looked so different from their passport pictures.

no, I don't think the chances are high that an girl group would whore themselves. I mean why in the world would they do that?! I mean they are extremely popular and I don't see a reason why they would do that. I see snsd and kara up there and they are really popular in korea. Theres no reasons for them to sell themselves, ya know what I'm saying? If that were true then they would be fired by now or be flamed by korean netizens or what ever you call them

What they did or did not done it's one thing (chances they done so are next to zero), as for fabrication matter... well lots of Japanese idols are fabricated as well so i don't see a reason why Koreans wouldn't be.
But it all goes hand in hand with how media presents them, on which side they are and what large groups of people consider idols (which again is influenced by media).
It's something that common spirit forces into the poor rebellions that do not want to be part of it but resistance is usually quite futile.
I'm saying that from my own experiences. I still think that idol business (regardless of the country of origin) is huge bullshit not worth listening or watching (most of them present themselves primarily as singers, but do gazillion other job's) and they're sealing because of their image only and now for quality of their work. That said they're damn good at appealing themselves to people (mainly because of long, repeated and frequent advertisement they get). And i find it really hard to throw all that away sometimes.

P.S.: no offense meant for anybody... i'm just in shitty mood where i want to badmouth everything and anything i see o.O

EDIT: I should probably add this, it's for Japanese ranking only (as i'm not interested in Korea) but it pretty much gives you an idea how things work music industries generally. Of course it is not the same for all of them involved in business, but does that are not affected by "connections" and similar but still earn big buck are really rare to the point where you can consider them extinct 😛

There is a long, LONG history in the entertainment business (in all countries, as far as I know) of people who want to become (or remain) famous having sex with people who have the power to make or keep them famous.

I don't believe the article meant that the girl idol groups were prostituting themselves to whoever was nearby, but rather that they were sleeping with producers or others who could make or keep them famous.

Disclaimer: I have no opinion of whether the groups named in the article did or not, as I know nothing about any of them, but sex in return for favors is not exactly a new idea.
