this is the whole list of everybody that was at ROTB on July 28+29th

it was pretty crazy, baking in the sun for 10 hours, we managed to get into the second section (very front section was separated from the rest by a barrier so they didn't get crushed by everybody behind them). Saw a couple people collapse from heat stroke or something, definitely a shortage of water (for 3.50 a bottle 😲 )

These groups were truly skilled, Supernatural and Rahzel were the MCs for the day. Supernatural currently holds the world record for freestyling, at over 9 hours straight 🤣 It was something else. Plus, who doesn't love being in NYC 😛

dats just evil, forcing u to choose between brother ali and black star. dis year everybody's on one stage.

I don't think you can classify things as good or bad >_> but I understand what your saying.

I like Lupe Fiasco, I listen to him almost exclusively rap wise. XD; I just like him a lot. (Well that's not true, I listen to others but he is the only rapper on my mp3 player.)

Ot:
That said I'm in love with 50 cent. ;_;

I don't mind telling you but it's just fangirling. Nothing to do with hip hop or rap really.

Ugh, everytime i even see 50 cents in change I'm reminded of Ayo Technology and how horrible it is. But the music video is HAWT.

I haven't listened to much rap... not for a looooong time. (Don't care for 2 quarters, Kanye, not even Eminem... Jay-Z's okay, I guess...). Too many rap artists are too self-absorbed, use too much profanity, don't have much substance, and have limited... ... ... well, I'll just leave it at too self-absorbed, too much profanity and not much substance... Nonetheless, the list(s) that some of y'all gave seems to be worth looking into. Thanks y'all! 😀 I think I'll check out some of yer picks!

Jam master Jay helped him make power of a dollar and eminem and dre helped him make get rich or die trying, his two only decent albums.

@tonigobe: Kanye, Eminem, Jay-z, forget how they/the media present themselves, they put their hearts and souls into their albums, u want substance? let the albums represent them.

Just Jack
The Pharcyde
Afroman
Astronautalis (This, too; I couldn't decide...)
Gang Starr
Michael Nhat (Note: Way, way better live.)
k-the-i? ?? This one blows me away each and every time. Incredible. "The lost shallows just too dope: Kollidoscope."
Everlast (The obvious song choice. So be it!)

I noticed an Astronautalis mention earlier in the thread. To that person: Props. Astronautalis is the good stuff. And he somehow improves on his already incredible music live.

nothing against u personally, but mentioning lupe and common in da same breath as wayne...

Carter I Carter II saw a Wayne at his best, then he contracted what i like to call the mobb deep syndrome and started to dumb down his lyrics.

And what is it that you listen to?

Read the rest of the thread before you bash a whole genre of music. W
