I use Sennheiser HD 212Pro. It's awesome ^^ Quite good quality and it's not too expensive.

I always go for Seinnheiser, because they are off great quality and easy to find in electronic stores.

You can look up reviews online on this brand.

But they might be a bit expensive if you want SUPER GREAT AWESOME quality.

I bought Sony MDR-EX36 recently because it was on sale. It was $12 CDN with tax when I ordered it. Normal price was like $60 which is outrageous for earphones IMO. The deal is on redflags website if it's still there.

Headphones, definitely.... f*ck portability.

You need to give a budget, or it'll be a pointless question.

If money's no option, Stax.
Or more specifically, a Stax SR-007 Mk2 + WooAudio WES headphone amp.

Once you've experienced soundcapes from a Stax, everything else sounds like a cheapo misfiring moped.

If you seriously want earbud types, head over to an Oakley boutique and try out their line of sunglasses with built-in earphones. They sound much better than you would think. Only problem is that the actual frames don't suit every type of face contour/shape.

Just getting a random pair of headphones/earbuds might not be what you want... you really need to figure out what you want from these devices; so, some questions you will want to ask (though, not limited to these) are:

How much you are willing to pay?
How much you are willing to go over that amount?
Where are you planning on using them?
How long are you planning on listening to music?
How loud will you play it?
What do you want to hear in addition to the music?
Are you concerned about hearing loss?

And any other personal convenience issues you might deal with.

It would be ridiculous for me to go over $100, as a matter of fact $50 wuld be ideal
I don't know
I'm planning to use them everywhere
For many many hours everyday
Very very loud, probably at its loudest
I want to hear everything, like I'm there when they are recording the song
lol @ Are you concerned about hearing loss? I might be a bit concerned about that

Then you should take a look at this link...
http://forum.frontrowcrew.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=554

Especially this post.

You should probably look into headphones rather than earplugs... that are noise canceling to reduce the volume necessary to get the effect you would like (e.g. minimize the you hearing loss you would incur from its use... as you stated that you'd listen to it as loud as you could {see Tinnitus}).

Of course, the admin over there was suggesting These, which are in your price range $76.72 from amazon. So, if you are not comfortable with the extra weight headphones place on your head... then try those out.

IMO using earbuds isn't very safe for the street.
There are portable models of headphones and they can be a close type not to bother other people much with your music.

Also, make sure that the plug is the correct size for the device/s you're planning on using.

From Personal Experience (and it may just be me) Skull Candy Earphones break fairly often. I really hope it may have been just mine, but that's a fault I find in Skull Candy Earphones. Who knows, the Headphones may be better (usually are).

I would say Sennheiser Earphones/Headphones are good. I have Headphones about 5 years old, and still going. I got a pair of Earphones earlier this year and they're still as fantastic as when I first purchased them. Albeit, it is a bit pricey. But Quality comes at a Price, I suppose?
