I don't get into...power metal.
eek I've always known that the antichrist would appear friendly....

This doesn't get your blood pumping in the least?

Not even this?

Now I know that some people just don't do some genres, in the same way that I don't do Hannah Montana and her built-band ilk, but, I mean, I can't help but wonder at somebody who could dislike the sheer power of power metal.

Perhaps I should let it pass this once; you display such good taste in other bits.

Which brings me to a group on the other end of the spectrum: Vampire Weekend!

Why? Because they make awesome songs like this, and proceed to wander about Paris playing them. So intense.

Primal Fear= ripoff of Iron Maiden.

Vampire Weekend= Delightfully odd.

However, power does nothing for thedownhearted or the poor. Also it does not match the sheer brutality formed in the depths of the deepest oceans.

Sweeping arpeggios and operatic wailing (unless it's bruce dickenson) cause naught but wanton destruction of the source.

Hmm? Usually they're called ripoffs of Judas Priest! Iron Maiden, eh? Por que?

That is the correct answer, certainly

Digging the first two very much. Still deciding how I feel about Gojira.

That is because Son House OWNS. He taught Robert Johnson about the blues, man.

Now if you want to get downright cool, check this. After that, chill with some down home blues and contemplate your life.

Then, curl up with a six pack

Seconded. The King of Siam is someone you can really look up to. All he has to do is walk into a room and dozens of women bow down to him.

Blues/Rock/Alternative is what they have listed on their Myspace. I recommend their entire body of work (just saw them live less than 3 hours ago.) cool

Any recommendations for European folk-rock? Kinda like Phoenix http://youtube.com/watch?v=yuuGa3ttqHw , (whom I highly recommend-best Romanian band ever, period), or Horslips http://youtube.com/watch?v=y5G8AJf4Xzw (they're Irish, but I haven't listened to them a lot) or this one http://youtube.com/watch?v=QYlFn5q_UQk ...yep you guessed it, Nightwish again~<3

Not a big fan of Greek/Italian/Turkish music. For various reasons cool

The Dubliners are pretty good, but that is like more straightforward folk. Are you looking for folk-metal?

I somehow really like them even though they're pretty far from what I usually listen to smile . But yeah I guess I'm more for folk-metal, and I have no idea where to start looking (before you ask, Wikipedia is a bitch with me right now ;_;..as is the internet in general <_<)
