This thread was made because I love 2d fighting games and I have been playing this game called mugen and wanted to know if anyone heard or played it. If you haven't heard of it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M.U.G.E.N that will explain everything if you want to play it just PM me or something its a fun game engine and please post your favorite character if you wont mind if you play.

I've played it with a buddy of mine who was really into it. I didn't particularly care for it due to the lack of balance which is going to be an obvious issue when people make their own characters and then when you get it you go and change the coding to make them insanely powerful. If I remember right it wasn't online either. Favorite was Kenshin for the little bit I played.

P.S. after a few rounds I started beating him and he got really pissed hence what spurred him to play with character coding.

yeah usually people do over power people I personally hate anyone who dose that cause like you said just craps all over a type of balance

I haven't played this in a while. I use to like it, but my hard drive crashed with my over four gigs of stuff. It also kind of lost it's appeal being that all the characters were the standard profile (power bar that fills up, basic combo sets), and most charters released were already in other games.

Original stuff is what I'm looking for, and those are far and few between. The one good M.U.G.E.N game I was going to try got removed because of pepel taking credit for the guy's work.

I hope Card Sagas Wars Will change that though. This game is looking so awesome.

Never played. Thought a lot of the characters where interesting though. Evil Dan was hilarious.

I never played it too, I prefer the original game after all.

Toki from Hokuto no Ken, would be the strongest char ever, throw or capture into wallbounce combo then into OTG position to air juggle, then finish with Supers Moves. Not to mention his warp trap, and his easy to connect fatal KO.

I've played it, offline.

2-3 years ago i constructed Garou MOTW in Mugen. But after i get the real one i dump the Mugen ones. The main problem for me is balance. Overpowered character disgust me. I don't know if i'm right or wrong, someone in Mugenchina make KOF mugen project which include all character and tweak the balance.

yes, not so much fun especially since not all the characters are calibrated to the right level so you got a mini sprite version of Edward from FMA vs a HUGE Majin Buu, Edward one shots Buu while Buu barely touches him.

^Yea, not to mention Super Broli and Sephiroth are beyond Uber-Godly Unfair....

I mean push one button and its a one-hit super-uber-destroy-all-matter ko.

It's still fun either way. I've never played it online though. I'm imagining it would probably be a disastrous.

I love the super move of the girl from Dark Water, btw. Or was it The Ring? who cares, it was still amazingly original.
