Yay or Nay?

I'm currently trying to deside if I should start reading webtoons..

I'm not a big fan of coloured comics/manga/manwha, but I aint simple minded and are open for new things.
(Im dying for a new read)

Well that depends on what you are looking for.
There are really nice romance based webtoons e.g. Melo Holic.
If you are looking for action, battle stuff, be aware that the MC in there often is strong from the start unlike most shounen where he starts pretty weak and gets stronger very slowly.

I'd say try it and see if you like it. the strip style offers nice options (a bunch of them are shown in Melo Holic but there are more). And most plots are really interesting. I had the same problem about a year ago, decided to try it and never regretted it.

Also, there are many threads about webtoons (I think even a 'your best webtoon' one), so theres enough material to choose from 🙂

good luck

My answer is: YES, you should 🙂

If you decide to try webtoons, here are a few that I have enjoyed (mostly romance):

Cheese in the Trap
Chang Ge Xing
DICE: The Cube That Changes Everything
Annarasumanara
Dr. Frost
Nineteen, Twenty-One
Song of the Cloud
Magician
Ties of Compassion
Story of Someone We Know
Pinocchio
Pink Lady
Blind Märchen
The Children's Teacher, Mr. Kwon
The Pale Horse
Dear, Only You Don't Know!
Telling Through the Colors
Gyon-Woo & Jik-Nyu
Shihwamong
Lady Detective
Cat Couple

A side note, since you are new to webtoons: read left to right. (after reading a lot of manga that can feel weird)

I had the same skepticism about this not to long ago. But when you find something really good and the only con is that it's a webtoon you should definitely go for it.

I would personally recommend Girls of the Wild's as a starting webtoon ( if you're into romance generes)

webtoons are the best.. at least give them a try... my favs are Noblesse and Tower of God and Dear, Only You Don't Know! and Ties of Compassion... and Abide in the Wind although that one isn't being translated... depends on what type you like to read, but webtoons are diverse just like manga.

It's Yay! As you read you'll get used to the colour, and like everybody said you won't regret starting one.

I am extremely picky, and for some reason I just can't ever find a webtoon that I can get into.

I say yes because I'm really loving Noblesse and Can't See Can't Hear But Love right now! 😀 I highly recommend these two along with The Friendly Winter. (Warning you may cry while reading those previous two... I did)

Definitely yes.

Webtoons isn't a genre or anything. It's an entire medium, so someone saying they don't like webtoons is like someone saying they don't like music. There's so much variety that there's always something for somebody.

Storytelling and art vary from webtoon to webtoon, just like they vary from manga to manga, so it really depends on what you like and want to read.

Here's some webtoons that I think make exceptional use of its medium:
Lessa
Kiss Wood
The Pale Horse
Peak (IM Gang-hyeok)
Story of Someone We Know
