Yeah a lot of time; it's so annoying especially when I have a favourite manga.
And I remember the names when I read, but when I'm not reading I just can;t seem to remember the names O.o

When I'm first starting a series it usually takes a while before I can remember their names, but after that I usually remember.

I sometime forget the names of most of the characters and remember them only by their appearance

i forget those names who i´m NOT interested in. Sometimes i remember the names but don´t know which character it was (one time i woke up saying takanari-sama but i had to google the name to remember who it was -.-") sometimes i still know the names of the minor characters, but forget those of the main when i have read the manga a long time go
In anime it´s easy to remeber the names if they are mentioned in a special way like "shiraishi-kun? SHIRAISHI-KUN?!" in Lucky Channel

This. I have enough problems trying to remember what happened 2 days ago, much less trying to keep track of every character I come across -- I blame it on too much partying in my youth. 😛

lol, i always forget names when im trying to talk about a manga(except for main characters) i usually remember them if im reading the manga though.

If I haven't read the manga in a while, then yes.

it depends normally i dont, but if its an ongoing manga and new releases take forever to come out eventually i will forget some characters names.. specially if its a manga im not really attached to...

but if its a story i really liked(or character) there almost 0% chance ill forget their names

Sometimes I do. If it was something I spent a lot of time on and I was really interested in it then I can remember the names. When I first started getting into manga/anime I was like HUH?? but now its easier.
Minor characters are a bit harder to remember especially when I don't really like them and they aren't mentioned very often.
On the other hand if I haven't read the manga for a while then I can't remember anything. I remember faces/personalities/events but not names. 🙄
