I didn't expect this. What I was expecting was something cliche around the lines of treating her bad, cheating on her, and probably some high school drama and betrayal, all in like 3 chapters or so.
But this. Only 1 chapter is needed. So much rage bent inside me wants to wreck Tohru right about now.

I can't wait to hear how the idiotic otaku in Japan that think any non-virgin woman is worthless will react to this. If they reacted so badly to Shou having a hickey, think of the nerdrage that this will cause.
Though I understand it to a degree, the intense virgin worship that goes on in a lot of asian cultures to this day still boggles me.

It wasn't rape, it was her being tricked, which is not the same. There isn't a court in the world that would call that rape, nor should they. She consented to it, she...was...not...raped...
However the main char is an idiot for letting her go, way to just reinforce her self-doubts and make her feel like no one would want her if they knew. He should have grabbed her and held on tight and made her secure in the knowledge that he would still be there. Most of the times when someone opens up to you like that they don't want you to try to fix things or say the perfect platitude to make them feel better, they just want to know that you are there and still care about them, that's it.

You make it sound like you have some personal experience there. That, or you're a psych major.
I agree on the not rape thing and I can imagine someone who went through something like that to get some reassurance.
On the other hand I find Utsumi's reaction pretty realistic.
Most guys won't know what to do with a revelation like that. Having to process it first and then thinking of how to react. Some guys may think that grabbing her might spark bad memories or something for example, having a feeling of powerlessness to help her.
Still, I find the whole manga te be too drama heavy for the past while. Hope we get past that soon.

why does so many people think that it was rape when she consented she did not like the idea but she did agree and was not forced or blackmailed so there is no rape just consensual sex with major reprecussions

i dont think that the filming was the worst part,i think that what really made her feel bad was that he only did with her cause of a bet and she really liked him.the video was just like a proof of how"stupid" she was for acting according to her feelings.like when you rub salt in a wound
