Three fingers - I was thinking about Inglourious Basterds (2009), and the scene where Bridget von Hammersmark said the reason those men were found out they weren't real Germans is because of how one of them order another round of beers. He put up three fingers with his Index, Middle,and Ring fingers and Germans hold up three fingers with their Thumb,Index, and Middle fingers. Since there's a thread about the shape of your feet, why not make one about how you put three fingers up. I'm also curious at what's the most natural way someone does this.
For me it's most natural to put up my Index, Middle, and Ring finger. Although I am I fan of putting up my Thumb, Index, and Middle fingers. I try to do it that way, but I have to think about it otherwise I'll do it the most natural way for me.
... I'm a fan of this? ... that sounds even odd to me ...

Holding up thumb middle and index is physically impossible for me so I have no idea how people do that.

Depends...
Mostly if I'm indicating three I'll hold up my index, middle, and ring fingers.
If I'm counting to three, it's about 50/50 whether I'll use thumb, index, and middle or index, middle, and ring. Very occasionally I'll use pinky, ring, middle when counting to three.
My youngest son uses his index, middle, & pinky fingers to show three (thumb holds down ring finger).

Yeah, I also answered index, middle and ring. But I confess that using the thumb, index and middle is way cooler xD
