Best FF out there is FFVI (and the oldies), Best Villain, best plot, best music... all the FF's after the VI had to copy/paste more than a few things in order to make a good game >_>

My favorite FF series is FFVIII hands down. Although I never got to finish it, I really love the story. And I'm a fan of Julia and Laguna's love story.

And the characters are cute too. And another thing that I like about FF8 is (aside from the GF and Triple Triad) is the setting. it's very utopian/dystopian (depends) sci-fi setting.

And I still haven't got over with Eyes on Me yet. I love that song

Ugh, Final Fantasy. Now, I may be a hard-core RPG traditionalist (meaning, I can only speak positively about FF IV, V, VI without lying to myself) but... ugh. Nevermind, I won't even go there.

I would say FFVI is my favored FF game. The plot and dialogue don't consist of garbage, it has consistency and the music is top notch.

You can keep your emo, under-fed boys. I'll be going to hang out with the Japanese who can appreciate a good RPG. Jack grasps his Dragon Quest, casts a quick bounce to reflect the flames and runs off to his corner.

My favorite would probably be FFX.
I only have 3 FF games- FFIII on DS, FFX, and FFXII Revenant Wings on DS.
I liked FFIII but there's nothing to the characters except being the 4 warriors of light 😛 . And I totally don't get FFXII Revenant Wings because I'm guessing it's like a spinoff from FFXIII which I have not played. So FFX would be favorite, I loved the battle system, and I hated Blitzball at first but when I got the hang of it I kinda started liking it.
Now I have to save up money to order FFX-2 😮 .

I am a FF VII hater and a FF VIII lover becuse the story in FF VIII was deep and dark the romance was the best FF Romance EVER Squall and Riona forever!!!! and in the game there was different Leangues Balamb gerde "Übungshalle" the German word for the train area if you dont belive look onto the green arrow 😃
The only good think in FF VII Was the one winged angel who flys in circles 🤣
the rest FF games are all really good.
But no one beats Kefka from FF VI as vilian
thats all I think

I have to give a shout out to FF10. I love them all, but people never say they like FF10. Maybe cause the ending was sad and the sequel sucked? I really liked the plot and the setting. I dunno if it was just because it was the first FF game for PS2, but the world felt more diverse to me somehow. The characters were fun too. I just wish the sequel had stuck to the traditional FF feel instead of eyecandy for otakus. The plot was weak, and the Tidus wasn't even in it (except for flashbacks and crap).

I can't really decide either... The first one I played was VI (IV? US) but I didn't really comprehend the complexity. The first one I could comprehend was VII and I liked the story of VIII very much.

IX was the first one with >16 bit graphics that echoed the older series (never did play III --- I suppose I should try for the DS) [II, IV-VI]. I actually got annoyed with I mostly because I was impatient as a child --- it was so hard at times. I really liked the system in II.

EDIT: The previous post was long winded and awkward.... Don't remember when I wrote it... I must of been in a daze...

What I could gather from my previous post.... I almost cried in FFX... I was... we am... a sucker for sob stories I guess. Though, Tidus' personality annoys me. I have yet to play XI because I don't have anyone to play with and I really enjoyed XII.

For the love of all that is FF, don't get FFX-2 😲

I've played FFX the most, so I'll go with that.

Ah! i totally can't come up with one...
I love them all, but there are definitely stand outs...

-ff XII, I love the landscapes, graphics and the music is an OK, the storyline is okay, and same with the characters, but none the less, I still like it.

-ff XI, haven't played, im not one for mmorpg.

-ff X, definitely a keeper, the characters, unforgettable, the storyline is totally new compared to the past ones, and the music is gorgeous. the first final fantasy with actual vocal communication, it is splendid.

-ff IX, for the nice graphics and beautiful landscapes and for the revival of the old final fantasy "themes" (castles, princess', mages, etc) the beautiful soundtrack and lovable storyline.

-ff VIII, it has a great storyline, and also it had furthered the graphics from 7 so much. the first one with "tall" people, the junction system was okay, the battle system was a little weird, but i still love the story, music and characters.

-ff VII, for the great, great, great! storyline, being the first 3D final fantasy with CG cut scenes, and the allowance for Nobuo to go vast and beyond on his compositions, the astonishing storyline and characters get you into this and hard to get out. the polygonal characters were hilarious, now that i look at them.

-ff VI, for the difference in story line, bringing a sort of fresh start to the series, it introduced a sort of "mecha" theme to it, but not to be forgotten are the unforgettable storyline and characters. =]

-ff V, was cute, the story line was a little drab but still good, but the characters were cute and lovable, i have always had a grudge with the job system, so thats not a key point for me, but theres just something i like about it =]

-ff IV, this was my friends favorite, the storyline is good and i love, love, love the characters, plus its the introduction of ATB, an all time favorite for the series. i haven't played it in a long time, but its one that i always crave to play.

-ff III, I love it, but don't love love it. it has a mediocre storyline, and the characters aren't too memorable, and it also has the job system.. hmmm, but it had a wide selection to choose from, which was nice, and some of them are very cute or cool. The music is good though ( what ff doesn't have good music 😕 ) I haven't played it in a long time.

-ff II, which I have just grown to like recently =], i thought was just like 2 but better, but the storyline is quite vast and goes deeper than I ever thought, i have grown to love the characters and the progress of the storyline and it also has the introduction of cid and the lovable chocobo. =]

-ff I, that started all the final fantasy's, though its the birth of it, it isn't a favorite, well at least now, its quite nostalgic and nice and old school, but compared to others, its alright. we all have to start from somewhere right? but it is a great start. it introduce many things not seem before in the RPG realm, so i guess it has improved all RPGs, so i give it props.

but I love them all equally, like they are my children.
(but I do have a soft spot for the oldies)
😀 🤣

I've only played Tactics, and I loved it. I thought the little sprites were kind of cute.

It was the first time when I finished a game, sat there, and was like, "Wow, I can't believe I finished it."

I still haven't beaten an RPG since then. And I have Disgaea 1 and 2. But I'm finding it very hard to immerse myself in those two games for some reason.

AH! How could I forget Tactics?!?!? Actually... I am replaying Tactics! Um... well for the PSP, Tactics, the War of the Lions.
Tactics has a really nice story and a very hard (almost broken) system... It's much harder earlier (the first 2 chapters) and only a few battles in chapter 3 and 4 are difficult. But once you get Orlandu you pretty much win 😀 Orlandu is probably the most broken character in all of FF.
