So, I'm pretty sure the Typical Default Anime Face, while resembling the human race, does not actually resemble a human race. It doesn't look particularly Asian or Caucasian, even though most characters are White if they aren't already Japanese, I think. I'm interested to see how this is represented when race is actually adressed directly.

The only one I can think of is FAKE, with one guy being half-Japanese and the other being American. Um... they look the same.

On the rare occasion that BL addresses race issues (gender being a sufficient cause of conflict and angst in most BL stories), the limitations of the BL art form make it difficult for mangakas to depict men of different races well, given that most focus merely on making their men good-looking. Still, you may wanna give these a try 🙂
