This is a rant on everything wrong with this manga
I heard a lot about this manga and my yaoi crazy friend finally made me read it. I can handle small amounts of rape but the rape was portrayed as being pleasurable made me feel sick. The characters were the biggest problem. The main character Anase I think his name was is the most whimpy character I've ever read. Even Dora the Explorer is stronger than him. In fact he makes her look like the fucking terminator. At first I could excuse his behaviour as he had just been raped by a psycho yakuza but then he spouted all this nonsense of loving the yakuza and he still insists on being straight Wtf. Finally if you want a character to be 18 don't make him look like a 10 year old. ...... This is the complete opposite of a healthy loving relationship and it just gives homosexual relationships a negative depiction. I had been quite interested in this at first as it was the first time I had heard of a male yaoi author and I was very disappointed
Don't take the whole manga seriously
After going through the first two volume alone, I felt like I needed an ice bag. It pained me to read this manga. I can't understand why I even decided to read through a volume and a half. I guess the hope that I'd get something better out of it by reading it was too strong.
I can't speak for the manga as a whole, but I can give you something as close to an observation and inference as it can get.
I found the characters- MC, love interest, and all the other characters interesting. That is, if they're not going through the story proper- like omakes and side stories. Their personalities are interesting. It pains me to read them in the story though.
In an omake, their exaggerated actions, interaction and responses is forgivable. In the story itself, it is beyond unforgivable.
I think this is why there are people who seem to hate the manga. The main characters' personalities -Kanou being too masculine and Ayase being too wimpy, girly and clueless to the point of asking for saving grace- are too exaggerated for us. It's like there's no space for common sense to be in the picture. They aren't human enough for us.
It's sad to think that it's bad. This manga is too misunderstood, but I'm too pained by it to even take the time to understand it.
The only thing one can do is to not take the whole manga seriously. You'll hate the manga if you do.
Not that bad actually but don't expect much
I was always afraid of trying Okane Ga Nai cause even my yaoi loving brain was terrified of the dub/non-con, tiny MC and scary yakuza semi-rapist. It really pushes the "If they cum and enjoy it, is it still rape? " and other such discussions to the brink. Plus I found it when I was just starting to transition from shounen-ai to yaoi so naturally I ran away. But lo and behold here I am writing a review so I must have eventually overcome my fear and read it like a man! Well nope!! It's just that I read Henshin Dekinai and really enjoyed it so I thought that if the same guys are handling this one then I might be able to stand it. And I was right! It actually isn't as horrifying as I thought it would be ( although I cheated a little and skipped the first few chapters) I ended up reading through all the updates. The side characters really take the cake in this one cause Ayase is a dumb bitch and his stupidity often times makes me sick. Kanou doesn't seem so horrifying after reading a disturbing amount of yaoi but he still needs to see a psychologist cause his thought process is bordering psychotic.
Over all, I say that if you can get over all the flaws it actually isn't that bad. At least the comedy distracts from the harsh and disturbing bits.

The anime is better
The manga just drags on and on... 9 volumes for what could be solved in maybe 3, tops. It's not like Finder, where you actually want to read more and more. Instead you have a nasty loan shark (who acts like a kumicho) and a girl-with-a-penis uke, with the obligatory right hand man crushing over his boss's lover.
The anime is much better, though I don't think there's a single frame where Ayase isn't balling his eyes out. His voice is also girly, heck if he didn't use "ore" you'd think he was a girl (he might as well be one, since you never see his parts).
1st and BEST
So....This was my very first manga, anime, and yaoi! Can you believe it, but I loved it so much!!! I can't wait for more and I recommend it to everyone Everyone EVERYONE!!! The best!
Just say No.
this manga has alot of hype. but it is just horrible. there way to much rape. the uke looks like a ten year old girl. the story drags on and it makes you feel like a pedophile just for reading. That being said the side story Henshin Dekinai is very much worth reading. it has nothing to do with these loathsome seme and uke. but rather being o.k with your self and your sexuality.
omg I like this!
I like this manga ; A ; <3 at first i thought it will be shallow... but it's not what it seem if you try to read from first volume to latest... /so many emotions/
plus the main uke is not easily swept to change his gender preference just because of "experiencing it" or getting confession.
ughhh i want more. just read it people. <3
For many people who read this manga and talk crap about it then that means they didn't get the plot or how the characters was built that way. it will take forever to explain, anyway, to me it was perfect...
A Classic, in the bad way
If you like cliched seme/uke dynamics, cold but secretly-in-love "semes" who coerce and torment and abuse their way to the rape-is-love ending, you will probably enjoy this manga.
There isn't really anything substantial beyond that. A young, very effeminate boy is forced to prostitute himself to a jerk whom he fears and dislikes being forced to have sex with in order to repay family debts he's inherited, and the result is something akin to sexual slavery and more Stockholm syndrome romance.
To me, this sort of thing is not cute, not sexy, and ultimately not very enjoyable. In fact, it's just kind of deplorable.
There's nothing wrong with enjoying this sort of thing, but I'd really recommend not wasting your time on it unless it's you enjoy this kind of dynamic and story a lot. Otherwise, perhaps like me, you'll just find yourself wondering how on earth this managed to run eight volumes long.
My first yaoi manga...
This was my first yaoi manga as well as first yaoi anime. I really loved it. I am very surprised to find out that it is still ongoing though. I thought it finished and I was so satisfied. I am just very thankful that the last chapter I read wasn't a cliffhanger (or at least, not exactly one). Honestly, I don't mind cliches in yaoi mangas/animes. I do however mind guys with long hair. I don't like long hair in guys even in real life.
