Let's face it. Naruto and Bleach are the same thing over and over. Bleach: hack, slash, hack, slash. YAWN!

Naruto drags on, and on, and onnnnn.... my god, just end it already. o___O;

The artists of the manga I bet just want to mooch off it's popularity and get more moneyz off it...

OVERALL, NARUTO AND BLEACH DO NOT DESERVE IT'S FAME. :] And that's a fact IMO. ;D There's much better series out there than these two, and they aren't that great. =/

I also want to kill its fanbase [no offense].

My favourite shonen manga? Hm... Death Note is #1. No competition. The plot is uh-mazing [first arc > second arc], and really original. Just a small loose end... how does writing in a notebook KILL people? [i'm joking, I'M JOKING. Please don't kill me ;__;]

I also lurve School Rumble, though it does get draggy at times. ONIGIRI FTW! Screw you Tenma, go die. >> I also don't like the princess/bad-boy sort-of couples. o__O; It like... turns it into a shoujo cliche. -- SHOUJO CLICHE IN SHOUNEN? NURRRRRRRRR!

Bitter Virgin is also my fav SEINEN [seinen, people, seinen]. Maybe it's just me, but I enjoy angst stuff like that. >__> Such a good series. o__o; It only has 3 volumes so far, but it's already as popular as fawk. <3 NOW THIS IS A DESERVING SERIES, PEOPLE!! It's probably going to be licensed soon... or maybe the company who plans to purchase the rights is waiting till there's more of it so they won't have to do like, 1 volume every 2 years? o__o;

Naruto does not deserve its popularity, but its definitely not bad. Same with Bleach.
Favorite Shonen manga would probably be Hajime no Ippo (Slam Dunk, GTO and BECK in close second/third/fourth in not necessarily that order).

For senien, Ichi the Killer, Vagabond (Berserk is good too).

On a side note, i thought Death Note did one of the bigger shark jumps i have ever seen around 1/2 way through

when L died, series died. and it honestly was only ok to begin with. and sweet jesus the anime was terrible. what was with that epic pen movements lol godawful.

I think people are being too hard on Naruto and Bleach. If they weren't as popular, evreyone would be like... "omg Naruto/Bleach is the best anime ever, totally underrated!" or something.

Anyway, I second Slam Dunk, it deserves more love. Oh and Soul Eater too.

There are people who rate it because of its fanbase... and I'm not one of them. And neither are like, 75% of them. I read the first few volumes of Naruto with high expectations. I got bored at the first 5 chapters. But I kept reading "Okay, maybe it gets better". Zap. Nothing. It's not that I'm saying "IT SUCKS BECAUSE IT DIDN'T MEET MY EXPECTATIONS". To me, it just sucks. >_> I found nothing appealing in it.

granted i agree with you about alot of the anime's in question (the main reason im on a manga site,ie. not a anime site) but generally, all stories have generally been done before. anyway most fighting series are like that so it's not really groundbreaking
And i personally thought death note got way to convuluted, but i dont really care if anyone else likes it.

lol i forgot blade of the immortal, that ones good also. i also like Full Metal Alchemist and Yakitate!! Japan <(really funny manga, from which comes my icon) and i know what you mean about Death Note.

Oh and when i say "Naruto doesn't deserve its popularity" , i mean that it doesn't warrant people like Daedalus yelling that its a literary masterpiece. same with bleach (tho i haven't met someone who has said that yet.) 😀

Also Dubby, I've noticed that you mainly like shoujo-ish stories.. So of course you're not going to like Naruto and Bleach.. And they're not predictable, it's Shounen.. It's just not your genre..

There's a difference between hating something, when it's bad.. And hating something, when it's not your genre.. The latter applies to you..

Greatest seinen is Vagabond, btw.. 🤣 Zetman is good too..

I don't like Naruto/Bleach/One Piece/so many more because of their genres. I just don't like them. They're not horrible, true, but they aren't as good as people say. o_O
