i like one on one knock down drag out brawls.

By pretty I meant not someone beat up, covered in bruises, and bleeding everywhere. Just a personal preference, I still read the more violent stuff but the question was what our favourite was. It's like asking how you like your steak, I prefer mine on the less bloody side.

I went with guns/bomb/etc, probably because I really like Black Lagoon.

Mine falls under other since it is realistic... But not in the way 'realistic' is listed.

By realistic I like fights that don't drag on for four hours (this can be in street brawls like from the manwha where the nerd and the street-fighter switch bodies.. can't remember the name). I know in that manwha the fights went on entire volumes of people just getting back up after being dealt ridiculous blows.

Basically if someone gets damaged to the point where they should be out cold or dead, it should end. I mean seriously, have a lot of these mangakas actually researched how much blood a human has and how much they can lose before passing out? It's -tiny-.

And yeah, it just feels really repetitive when things like that drag on. Same goes for battles of intellect where one person gets the upper hand, then the other person goes , "aha i tricked you, i really had the upper hand", then the first person unveils their secret that actually puts them ahead, but the second person supposedly anticipated this and had his response all planned out...

Yeah, definitely realistic ftw.

I really enjoyed the fight scenes in Black Lagoon, so I guess my vote goes to guns/bombs/etc

i really enjoyed naruto so i vote for powers altho naruto (ninja -powers) 😃

I think my preferences fall under the realistic category too.
By realistic, I also mean logical and 'economical'.

In an anime, it would be super powers.

But in manga, it would be a fight where the victor is the smarter fighter. For instance, they analyze the opponents moves, and defeat them by countering their move, or setting up a trap, or exploiting their weaknesses. (ie. Shikamaru vs. Immortal Akatsuki guy, every fight in Rorouni Kenshin)
I think this is cause fights in mangas are hard to see and visualize between panel to panel. So thats why when its all said and done, and the opponent is defeated, we learn how it happened.

Of course, nothing beats a well placed finishing move.

Knowledge fight for me. Then a realistic sword battle.

Random Fighting. Why sword x sword when it can sword x magic or even Sword x Knowledge. So i don't care what fighting it is as along as it good and i prefer logical fighting, not like Dragonball.....

I'd say magic fights, but I like those where the style of fighting for both parties is very different and you can see who gets the edge, and why. For example why would a mage kick a swordfighter's ass or viceversa. No ridiculous environment destroying and I prefer superpowers at a minimum. More like a battle of knowledge really.

I've always been very partial to a battle of wits. Actually, what I really like is anything that requires strategy or thinking to beat the opponent. I'm annoyed by dimwitted characters who win by 'willpower' or 'love' or 'sheer power' alone. Besides, those wins are usually the type that drag on FOREVER.

I put 'realistic' fights, because now its starting to bug me when characters randomly whip out random powers I didn't know they had.

Plus, in realistic fights, they tend to bleed alot more. 🙂

Although, I'm game for any type of fight.

Does the walker choose the path, or the path the walker?

I think I like pretty mixed fighting. A sword fight that also includes magic and martial arts would be perfect!

I'm not sure. A few of the fights that stick to me the most, are different in their own aspect. I love Gaara vs. Rock Lee (ninja fight), Ichigo vs. Byakuya(sword fight), and Luffy vs. Blueno (fist fight). The common factor in each of those fights is speed. So, I guess super powers best describes my preferred fighting style.
