Kamishiro in Holyland start as a normal teen with a huge amount of angst
he had a healthy interest in a Izawa Mai but in later volumes the girl simply vanish
and the boy is showing overwhelming unhealthy interest in her brother
and in one of the most gayest scene said "there's no way" when he was on top of the girl
and dropped a bridge on her

Yeah believe it or not he dumped the sister for her brother 🤢

in Mori Kouji's other manga D&R (Destroy and Revolution)
in one scene we have Yuuki declaring to Makoto "I almost died to become one with you!"
and followed that with "Oneness! we are one" ...... 😲
i don't know if there is any more gayish words than those.

Adekan lol i love that manga. I think a lot of the shoujo and some josei manga is pretty slashy. but yeah...definately Toxic. That should be shounen-ai...i mean it indirectly implies that the main character has slept/is sleeping with men...

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Monochrome Factor. Akira and Shirogane have a little more the just bromance going on there. The anime is way worse but still.

I just have to say I have about a million things to list, but I wont bother. It gets really annoying when two characters are really close to BL and the author is TRYING to make it seem so, because most of them are SORTA OBVIOUS, when it doesnt happen. Im not saying that they should take out all the hints, but its like when youre reading a really good shounen, and then it seems like theres BL as the main thing, then one of the guys dies and only the main or somebody cries... WTF HAPPENED TO THE LOVE? Its confusing when you dont understand what the author s thinking. Sometimes they ruin it... but I DELUSIONS... but anyways...

Naruto, for obvious reasons. I stopped reading it because you keep reading to see the BL, hopeing and praying, but you know its never gonna happen... thats why god made doujinshi! Im kidding about the god thing though because on a different forum they started hating on me knowing im not religious and all...

Kuroshitsuji, but I dont think its gonna happen. Alot of people think its gonna happen, but thats because theve been reading too much yaoi... yaoi is sorta bad in the way it may make the gay community seem and all...

Many others that made me sad... like ONE OF THE PARTERS IN BL DIES OR LEAVES TO DO SOME TRAINING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MANGA DESPITE THE MANGAKA PUTTING HINTS OF BL IN THERE. Sometimes people make you cry...

I don't watch or read Naruto anymore but seriously, there's something really wrong when the main character is so obsessed with his friend, he doesn't even get a girlfriend and spends his entire time chasing and thinking of him. 🤢 🤣 It's even worse when you consider their friendship was not deep, inspiring, dimensional: there's nothing to convince me why Naruto is so crazy for Sasuke.

That said, I rarely go into fujoshi mode 'cos man, I just don't bother too much with looking for slash or anything like that and often, I can't see it. Heck, I rarely read doujinshii even.

However, a lot of manga will feature slash simply 'cos they need to attract more readers. Marketing, sales, etc. , after all, Japan takes from America: being heavily capitalist and even manga is seen not as literature but as merchandise. After all, like it or not, in a similar vein, a lot of shounen and even seinen features slashy shoujo-ai. Sooo... why not for manga targetted at females?

Why has no one mentioned Yami no Matsuei yet? Everyone wants Tsuzuki.

And as for arguments on Nabari no Ou not being BL since Yoite is

intersex . Are you guys forgetting Raikou and Gau? Even if Miharu/Yoite isn't considered BL those two definitely are.

Oh right, about Yami... that poor guy kept getting molested by almost everyone. And wasn't there like some sort of tentacle rape scene in there. If that wasn't freaking yaoi, I dunno what the hell that is. I stopped reading it though 'cos there was too much tragedy in there. 🤢

I can understand why female targeted manga contain yaoi subtext
but what is suprising is that some seinen and even shounen serires contain some of that
for example Metal heart has some gay jokes and the protagonist is stalked by a yaoi-girl and cross dress frequently

I tried reading Adekan. Now, I don't like BL at all, and I remember reading the first two chapters and getting this strange sensation that I'd perhaps misread the category tags for this series, so I came back here and looked. When I saw that it wasn't BL, I was like "S***! Really?! WTF then?!" Man, I was so confused afterwards. I never finished the first volume. 🤣 .
