Usually listen to some music and look over the best parts of the manga.Rereading all my old manga is pretty fun and sometimes I notice someting new.

Ah I think I will try listening to music! And blakraven is right I have been reading alot of mangas with cliche. I think that is my problem also to many cliche mangas. Rereading might not be as bad as i think it is and I need to start readind something different also. Thanks alot you guys! 😀 But i would like to also hear alot more ideas also!!

If it's a manga I actually took time in order to remember the characters' names; then usually, they are the manga's that I - when rereading - take every sentence/sfx word for word wholeheartedly.

Otherwise, skimming and looking at the pretty pictures would be the way to go. :3

I'll usually read at night. I light a multitude of scented candles all around my "den", turn off all the artificial lighting, lay out the full-size polar bear rug (wif paws and the head), put on something skimpy and let Kenny G set the rest of the mood. I'd buy some luxurious alcoholic drink, but the candles would usually get most of the budget.

I wish i could this but I share a room with an 7 year old little girl who gets on my nerves every seond she gets. Maybe i'll try this in the bathroom. by the way I hope you weren't joking cuz i took it seriously. lol

I think I could reread Hunter x Hunter anytime I love it so much but it's not finish yet and im so looking forward to it.

Good stories and plot can always be reread, I think.

Sure you can remember the basic plot and outcomes but I don't think good manga loses any value from being read once. Though you should wait atleast a few months before rereading anything, or else it would feel redundant.

Noticing something new is always fun for the deep stories as well.

(Rereading your favorite parts seems rather silly to me... better off enjoying the whole story.)

i reread mangas once in a while~
the only manga that keeps me rereading it all the time is "blame!" dunno it is so unique.

for me i reread to see what they did wrong or right. usually, i would finish a manga (or at least be updated on it) and i would be fascinated by it. then, when i decide to read it again, i'd be thinking to myself "Why the hell did I like this?". some examples for me would be:

666 Satan
DearS
Ichigo 100%
Peach Girl

lol it's weird that i'm a straight guy and that i read stories like Peach Girl and DearS, but i read those when i was younger and i thought they were genius. now when i reread them, i laugh at how naive i was..

I tend to wait a year or two before re-reading any of my favourite re-readable manga. In the time between, I just read enough other stuff to displace the manga to be re-read so far into my memory that it becomes at least somewhat surprising when I read it again.

Also I guess there's two main reasons for re-reading mangas. First category would be those super-high-class-slash-epic mangas a la Berserk, Monster etc, that just craves a re-read every once in a while.
Then there's also the less embellishing category of "wtf just happened, and who was that guy and those two semi-protagonist girls over there?". Simply too many raisins in the porridge, leading to confusion with regard to names, characters, subplots etc. Korean manhwa tend to do this to me more frequently than Japanese, although this is probably cause Japanese names are, to me, so more familiar than Korean ones, making them easier to inprint in one's memory :0)

Then of course, plots and to some extent, characters, of long-running mangas - good or bad, crystal clear of confusing - tend to leave one's memory if they're buried too long back in time, or if the releases are simply too unfrequent. Even fragments of Berserk, re-read four times, drop from my mind as the pace of releases seems to approach the limit of 0 >< ; )

Anyway, I guess there's many different reasons for why I re-read manga, baked into the categorys above or spawned out of some more just-for-this-manga-specific-reason. And depending on the reasons, I guess I re-read the manga in different ways 🙂 re-reading of epic manga: thorough; re-reading of "who-was-that-again?" manga: quicker read/scan for the information lost, etc.

Also, times were better before 😉 old running manga just dont tend to die! xD (curse @ mx0, ..., ..., ... : just fill out the list of dropped-due-to-impopularity-reasons ><)

yeah when rereading them u know wat is going to happen next but still it is fun to read all those details. and since %99 of shoujos have a good ending so i think it is useless to know they will be together at the end. u had already known that when u were reading it first time 😛

I tend to listen to music whenever I read but when I reread my favourites I spend ages cross referencing with later/earlier passages. I have a good memory for where a certain phrase appeared and usually know it word for word but I just like to make sure sometimes. The fun of rereading something is you already know what's happened so you can go more in depth. It's no longer about just the basic plot, you can go hunting out all the little details, I love that.

The pen is mightier than the sword...and considerably easier to write with.
