I'm getting real tired of my parents saying games are a waist of time and my life... alot of people can't understand the importance of teenagers and games. -_-

Anyways, I want to see what people have to say about the gaming world, and what kind of games they play.

I stay away from games during the school year, and play an RPG or two during vacations. Oh, and you can't forget super smash brothers!

The gaming world is an illusion. You can learn maybe from it, but you can't live there forever. It's relaxing to an extent, but there used to be a time when games didn't exist.

I play everything that can be played in multiplayer.
I've not been playing a lot lately. <.<

I used to love computer games, but after playing mmorpgs, all other games aren't quite as fun. The only games I ever play nowadays are when I have a few people over and get out the party games.

I do like to think all those games helped shape who I am today though, that's my excuse for playing them xD

I play games all the time. I work in the gaming industry, so that kind of makes it alot easier. 😀

I play most types of games, although I prefer Racing, Fighting, and RPG games. I do play the occasional FPS, though. Oh, and Puzzle games are always fun (I still enjoy Tetris).

i find games to be a good stress release especially durning exam times. playing games during the school year is like drinking, you just gotta know your limits. personally, i like to take a break while studying for exams and play a couple hours of games and then get back to it.

there was also a study i heard about where certain games improve your reactions and in general, i do find i have better reflexes/reactions and senses (hearing and seeing subtle things) then most people i know

I remember that... I laugh. But chances are, it's true.

And games do improve reflexes. You spend more time thinking fast - it helps in math and science especially.

I also read that in a magazine at my school's library.
I do have faster reflexes than my friends.

The other day I was helping put computers together for my class, because we got around 30 new computers and there were three people connecting them together, and I was the fastest one out of the three. (It was the person in charge of the technical things at school and another kid in my class) The time it took them to connect one computer I had already connected 3 computers, and I was barely warming up but I ran out of computers to connect . 😀

I like adventure games, racing games, and shooting games 😀
I'm not too picky, I just don't have enough games to play! We don't buy them very often and I'm not very good at them, so I usually stop playing for while and pick then back up again later 🙂

Most recently (a couple of hours ago), I played Mario Kart Double Dash 😃

I know what you're going through >> I live with my mom only and I get to see my dad from time to time. And two years ago while walking on visiting him I received a leaflet about traveling abroad and I told him I'd love to go to US just to buy lots of games. Then, the following day, I asked him to buy me Clock Tower 3. Oh God, why? Just why did I have to open my stupid mouth 😔 He started saying that I only thought about playing video games and that he didn't get where got without studying yada yada yada. The thing is: I'm an excellent student and I've played video games during my entire life! There was no need for him to say such things. Besides, he ended up buying it for me anyway ^^v and thank goodness he never complained about it again.

Agree with you there. I find that games are good for a little relaxation and stress release when I get to bogged down by exams. Still, I don't play obsessively like I used and often I dont have the time to play much anymore even if I wanted to.

My Parents were the same. But my Stepdad was a FPS nut. So quiet simply I let him know when I brought a new FPS game and he instead wanted to borrow "Burn" the game. I Also got him on upgrades.

He complained when I upgraded my Graphics card from a GF4 MX440 to a 6600GT, claming that his GF4 Ti4200 (Which he only had because when he upgraded his CPU and MOBO it fried his GF2) was all he would ever need. My friend loaned him Doom3 and I loaned him FarCry. Well he changed his tune very quick when he found that FarCry wouldn't even excute with a (Sorry, your 3D card is too old) fast open/close type of screen and that Doom3 ran on medium to low graphics. 😀

I find games a good stress release.
