New poll, and the question is:
How do you generally like the endings of series?
Feel free to post the endings that you thought sucked, and how you would rewrite them
A just ruler amongst tyrants
I'm quite neutral regarding the endings, i mean, it's the mangaka's work and they end the series the way they can, it reveals the way they feel about their own work (even when they are forced to end it...)
Still can't choose any of the options of the poll.

I actually tend to enjoy the endings of most of the series i have read, except for the series that were forced to end quickly or extend beyond what the author originally planned, i actually think that the way some mangakas write the endings is pretty complex,m and even tough sometimes is not the ending you would have wanted, that doesn't mean it was bad, i mostly look up to the execution itself, because as it was mentioned above it's the way how the mangaka thought it should be, how the manga ended...

The wording for this poll is kind of weird. If I'm not mistaken, it's asking for what kind of endings we like but the poll options seem to reflect what kind of endings we tend to end up getting......

Most non-oneshot manga endings have disappointed me. Some endings don't really finish the story (even if the story lasted too long), some are too predictable (almost every romance), or the manga ends and I wanted more (usually this one). I'm not a person for goodbyes, adn that crosses over to my manga too.
Oneshots don't really make a big deal to me how they end.

Well, there are only two ways that a romance manga can end, so I guess by nature they are predictable.

I can always think of a twist or something that I don't like in the ending that I could rewrite better.
Most of the time it's to make the ending less cliche` and sappy and also for adding a few more chapters to tie up loose endings.
The ending that pissed me off most was from Shaman King:
The last pages show the main crew on their way to battle Hao...so if I was that limited in the space for the ending chapters, I'd rewrite it all from the memories of Yoh 60-70 years later, with his whole family around, telling the story like a slightly disjointed flashback (so there's an excuse for skipping alot of parts and suddenly jumping from panel to panel, in order to limit it all to one volume). And there's tiny flashbacks of the battle and how everything came to normal afterwards.
Of course that doesn't make for an excellent ending, but it's still a more solid one than the original <_<.
For me, it might be a little of I don't want it to end and it wasn't how I wanted it to end.
Like Hana Kimi, for some reason, I hated the ending.
I liked the series. Don't get me wrong. Just not the ending.
Though, I can't think of a better ending.

Depends on the series... for example you don't want your favourite character in some light hearted character dying.
I think most mangas I've read I've liked the ending although some do feel inconclusive, e.g. NHK and 21st Century Boys.
Also there are some mangas I just to freckin' end... like Bleach and stuff where lengthy "What moves I've got" discussions just become tedious.
However there are also some mangas I don't want to end, I wouldn't have minded if GTO never ended, as long as they kept it fresh. The mangas are just so fun you just don't want it to end. It's a sad goodbye.
And I also don't mind the manga/anime ends where the main character dies, as long as it's fitting. Some characters need to die in order for them to be truly epic... and although initally you can feel disappointed after you get over the fact that he died, you might come to agreement with the ending. e.g.
Cowboy Bebop: where Spike dies

I always feel the ending could go in another direction, I guess. Sometimes I think I could do a better job on it than the mangaka, sometimes I don't.

The whole years of my life as an Otaku, only Honey and Clover(season 1 and 2) satisfied me when it comes to a good ending episode. I mean, most anime ending episode, if they won't leave you hanging from the whole actual story, they will have you think of your OWN understanding to their given ending and in the, you will have to "invent" something to suffice your need to complete the story. It sucks, really.
One good example would be the ending of Rozen Maiden. The whole story was good, but at the end, you will have to imagine what really happened to them which was never really mentioned since the story was cut, as if we were really waiting for another season even though they didn't announced that there would be.
I also hate anime series which by the end of the season, you will have to continue the story through the manga. This really sucks, big time. Examples of which are Air Gear and Tenjou Tenge, both done by Oh! Great!...
Happy endings are always nice, but some of the series's ending does not make sense at all...this could be the worse situation.
