no, people dress as Angels/Devils! not Gods/Goddesses... I think...

There are God and Goddess costumes, at least for Greek and Roman. I was turn between Aphrodite and a Fallen Angel, but when I got back to K-Mart, the were out, and I had promised someone else I'd be a pirate. The closest thing was a Tavern Wench because I'd waited too long.

On mythology, I used to read a lot of it, Egyptian, Norse, and Greek a lot. And then I opened up to Asians ones. And well anything is good, just entertaining to read.

Gechunjul is basically the day when the Heavens opened up, mythologically speaking.

The myth is that a tiger and bear were fighting for the chance to become human. Eventually, ShinNim (mythological God, not real) told them to go into a cave and live on garlic for a few years.

The tiger that went in with the bear chickened out after awhile and the bear was the only one remaining. When it came out after the long time, it became a woman. The bear-turned-woman then married ShinNim and gave birth to the Korean race.

Thus is the day that the heavens opened up...mythologically speaking..

In Norse myth, Ragnarok is the end of the world. Also, the Norse places a lot on honor and valor, so to be without a weapon couldn't have been good. Actually, if you didn't die battle, I think it was considered dishonorable.

haha, ragnorak...i didn't ever quite get that. did the world end...and came back again? but its interesting. the giants were suppose to have habitated a land of ice, which when melted, meant they had less room to live, and that provoked something...
