yeah well i finished watching the Black Lagoon anime the other day and watching that show made me want to read/watch more mafia(or yakuza)/pirate based stuff... so anyone know a good pirate or mafia based manga 😳

You could check those:

Tokyo Crazy Paradise <-yakuza
One Piece <- pirates
Crying Freeman <-yakuza
Sanctuary <- yakuza

Watch out for the last two, they're labeled adult or mature.

One Piece, epic, not so serious

Reborn! is about the Mafia.

And Juneau, One Piece may be a happy series over all, but it certainly has its serious moments. Definitely a series worth reading, and it's pretty long, so it will keep you occupied for a while too.

these were the first two things i thought when i read the thread title, both are very popular too.

I don't like reborn.. And One Piece isn't serious, though I still like it.. 🙂

It has plenty of serious moments (some that the mangaka kind of ruined) but compared to the other one in my post its a pretty laid back manga xD

Definately worth a read.
