With Kikyo dead, all the anti naraku team are gonna go and kill naraku, and kagome tries to kill him in the way that kikyo had suggested, but she fails because of some new thing of narakus. they all run off for a bit and separate in the normal groups, but theyre still wounded and prepared to re enter the battle very very soon. all the ppl realize somthing very important during this small break, (like stuff about friendship, love, destiny etc.) and sacrifice everything, with a bunch of wounds and stuff, to kill naraku, using a modifyed version of kikyos original plan. they suceed in killing naraku.miroku and sango prepare to set off together to fix up some of the last details that naraku left behind, but also plan to move back to kaede's village and start a life together when they are done. kagome begins to worry about what she should do now that naraku is gone. she realizes she must continue to guard and purify the shikon no tama, taking over what kikyo had done previously. she feels that it would be better to keep the shikon no tama in the feudal era to purify it, so she continues to visit the feudal era very often. when she is not there, inuyasha promises to guard the tama with his life, and waits for her return. she lives the rest of her life, continually going back and forth between the feudal era and protecting, and purifying the shikon no tama along with inuyasha, miroku, sango, and shippou. she plans that when she dies she will take the shikon no tama with her to the afterlife once more.

oh and seshoumaru and rin and jaken go off somewhere, after seshoumaru realizes that its okay to care for humans. every now and then, he helps a person whose life is ending for an terrible reason.

kouga goes back to the mountains

Naraku. Dead. And stay dead! A hundred percent dead. Stake dead. BBQ Naraku. Yakidori Naraku. Roasted Naraku on a stick. I don't care! He's gone living long enough.

I've been following this manga for years from Viz's own translations to Sengoku's translations. Then, I continued from there with the scanlations when IY scanlations became more common. When everyone was fighting Naraku for the first real battle, I was more than ready to see IY end with this battle. But, it didn't end. I was about to explode. >_<

IY is one of the few (more than 15 vol.) current shounen manga that I follow. The other shounen manga that I've been catching up with as well is Detective Conan. Although, IY carries the "battle after battle" formula, I'm still following it because I badly want to see Naraku die. So, I might as well read everything up to his death. 🙄

So now, they are right at the, what is to be expected, as the real real final battle. Here's my many speculations on the ending...

Kagome shoots the arrow at Naraku. It blinds him followed by InuYasha's attack. Then, Naraku actually gets sucked into Miroku's kazaana. Yes, I want to see Naraku get sucked into Miroku's hand. I don't know why but I just want to see that happen. (And if not, no biggie.)

Then, the shikon no tama gets completely purified and is restored to its former glory. Yada yada. Everyone's happy. Both the human and the demons have a new connection in understanding each other.

Then, Kagome makes her final choice. Whether to stay or to go back home. She chooses home. We then learn that the shikon no tama has a power effect over the warp hole in Kagome's well. So, Kagome can only leave the past and can't go back. So, she says her final farewells to everyone and goes back to the present.

Now, if InuYasha ever sacrificed his life in the final battle, I would definitely expect him to be reincarnated in present Tokyo. (Even if it's a common used plot device, it really fits well for IY.) And if not, hmmm.... Then, he still can be reincarnated in present Tokyo. To make everything still peachy, might as well have the rest of the IY gang reincarnated. Kagome would be shocked but she won't be lonely. Oh, and I can't imagine what Koga would look like if he was reincarnated. O.o Probably end up as some biker or rock star? Er....

Without the reincarnation ending, Kagome goes back through the well and spends the rest of her life in ordinary normal stuff. Going to university. Hanging out. Always thinking of the adventures she spent in the Sengoku era and the friends that she met in her heart. Broken hearted as she may be of having to part with InuYasha, she learned how to move on. So realistically speaking that it leaves you a little hanging. :haha:

I know Rumiko said that she'll keep drawing IY until she dies. I know she loves working on it but...but...it has to end! Ahhh.... It's been too long.... ;__:

It sounds so like inuyasha... Although I think that baka-inu will get some sowrd modifications as well... Because he's so weak and stupid.
