You can't hate an entire demographic, there are some that are masterpieces (Shingetsutan tsukihime, Spice and wolf, and Zippy Ziggy), and there are the ones you will hate and think they deserve to burn in a fire (for me it's narutobleachandonepiece). While I hate 99.999999% of shoujo/josei manga, I've found some shoujo that fits my tastes (extremely shouneny shoujo 😛 ). You can however hate an entire genre, for me Yaoi and shounen-ai are off limits and creep the shit outta me.

For some reason I kinda hate Shounen but I still read those popular & good Shounen out there like Death Note, Hikaru No Go, Pandora Hearts, Ranma 1/2, InuYasha or Rinne..... those Shounen is really great! 🙂
But I like to read Yaoi with good art & great story....

Hate it :/ Other than Toradora (which I still argue is shojo, looking at the plot), I have never really like any shonen. I tried Inyuasha, but the plot was too much fighting for my taste. My twin sister likes Full Metal Alchemist, but where is the ROMANCE in that plot other than winry?!?!?!
I like Shojo/ Josei w/ romance as one of the genre tags. 😀
As they played the game...I waited for someone to call "onigiri." But no one called. I was very little then. I had almost forgotten about that. [...] But they knew...there would never be room for an onigiri...in a fruits basket.

I would say the Hoenheims character and motifs are firmly based in romance.

Demograpahic is based on serialization, not content, but even if it were, would a harem really be shoujo? -_-;;

i don't love shounen i don't hate it. but shoujo also has just as bad generic plot lines "this guy is crazy, but this guy is nice which, One do i choose!"

I actually have some shounen in my reading list that I rarely ever read. Last week I tried to add some new shounen to my reading list to see if they could make me interested in shounen again... but they are just like the others...
I don't hate shounen...I just don't like them very much.

shounen manga produces AMAZING villain but the heroes are just so gay and tacky
You are right, a lot of shounen do tend to take a childish approach, and also, they are filled with annoying, inappropriate (as in for the scene) comedy. That is why I prefer the serious atmosphere provided in seinen, although many have bad artwork and are not translated (R.I.P., Hobo-1).

This; reminds me of NARUTO, Rurouni Kenshin & ONE PIECE; such potential.
I love to read an easy going Shonen from time to time, even tough i like seinen much better, also, i know there seems to be more women than men here but i still can't believe so many people would say that they hate shonen. There are so many types of shonen, there most be at least one you like (even if just a one-shot)
I like how shounen is so varied that it can attract girls as well.

The only shounen I hate is if it has the word 'ai' after it. No offense.

Shaman king, full metal alchemist come to my mind fastest when I think good shounen.

I don't hate shounen. I actually like it a lot more than shoujo :/ Dachosen1's got it right there, most shoujo really is 1 girl and at least 2 guys who fight over her the entire series... You find a good one here and there but pretty much it's the same story over and over.
But yeah, shounen can get fairly repetitive. Good guys fight bad guys. Good guys lose. Good guys get stronger. Fight bad guys again. Win this time. Repeat until the final boss. Win against boss. >.> It gets incredibly dull. Now, even though I say that, I don't particularly dislike Naruto, Bleach, One Piece or several of the other big series like them. I mean, it takes work to run for that long and still keep readers coming back (even if only out of obligation).
I only hate bad manga.
Agreed. Every genre's got its fair share of crap, no need to single out shounen.

I like shounen. To be honest, it pleases me more than shoujo (I prefer josei). Though I don't read the typical shounen manga everyone reads like Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, etc. I read like Gintama, Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn!, Sket Dance, and Beelzebub. I also read not so mainstream shounen like Blood Parade, En Passant, etc.
I prefer shounen that has a unique character but as long as it's funny (Like Gintama and Sket Dance) then I'm okay. But the mainstream stuff I usually read usually doesn't involving with kill the bad guys, heros lose, than heros win...
