Bob Dylan & The Band.
Why ? Because I'm pretty sure that nobody would mention it here.

My top five include: AFI, Nightwish, Rammstein, Psyclon Nine and the GazettE.
i didn't know that Psyclon nine, Rammstein, and nightwish are all rock....
I'd say they are a bit heavier than rock xD 🤣

Well the line betweeen the different genres are extremely blurred sometimes, Rammstein for example consider themselves as Rock and not Industrial. NIN are also pretty hard to categorize....

Yea, i suppose your right, but i think it comes down to personal opinion what a genre really is and whats in it, there are general groupings, but for example, i would consider "Disturbed" rock, but i have seen them listed as hard rock/metal quite a few times, so i guess its just what the person thinks....
🤣
- Queen
- U2
- Random songs by various bands (I just like doing things in 3s 🙄 lol)
I'm surprised it took so long for people to say Queen. They are (if I remember right) the first band to use over-the-top stage lighting (one of the album covers says it I'm sure).
I robbed my dad of all his old Queen vinyl 😀
Lose - Opposite of win, to misplace something/someone. e.g. To lose your way, to lose a fight.
Loose - Opposite of tight. e.g. To have a loose screw, to loosen a jar lid.
^ Not just scanlators, but also company documents are getting it wrong now!

Bob Dylan>The Band.
That said, Music from Big Pink is a landmark album.

I always thought Rammstein was industrial 0_o
Nightwish however is certainly power metal or if you want, symphonic rock.
...And I guess Rock refers to the big rock family, from rock-ish blues to metal to industrial and whatnot.
I always considered genres more a guideline to help people guess what they'd like and not as absolute truths, because if we're to take genres word-by-word there'd only be 10 or so bands in one genre and the rest would be shot to "alternative" cause they don't fit word-by-word.
@Perim: Stealing dad's vinyls was one of my favorite pasttimes 😀 ..but the truly good stuff (Phoenix, Queen, the Black cat-White cat soundtrack etc) was on the comp 😀

Well it is "Best Rock Band" and not Best Singer/Songwriter, or whatever. And because I'm not a big fan of Grateful Dead and I had to mention Dylan, I chose The Band.

If you don't have a fitting genre you just create one : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neue_Deutsche_H%C3%A4rte but on the other hand this spawned so many new genres I just lost track of most of them.

Seeing peoples choices makes me wonder how many people listen to stuff made before 1990.
My top favorite bands are:
Queen
the Beatles
Aerosmith
Led Zeppelin
AC/DC
The Velvet underground
All of these are pre 1990s

Radiohead amongst the now active and Pink Floyd amongst the classics.

Yeah, I was basically using "rock" as a WAY general term. I know that Rammstein, Nightwish and Psyclon Nine are on the hard side, but I didn't feel like getting into the technicalities of it. lazy

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band is my first choice.
Honorable mentions include Grand Funk Railroad, Guess Who, CCR, Eagles, Moody Blues, Aerosmith, and (who can forget) Journey.
Solo Artists: Elvis Costello, Bob Dylan, and Eric Clapton (good with Cream, better solo).
It's psychosomatic. You need a lobotomy. I'll get a saw.
You gonna do somethin'? Or are you just gonna stand there and bleed?

Clapton Better solo? No No No! Cream is way better than solo Clapton, and I would take him with the Bluesbreakers next.
The only other one that I disagree on is Journey(I feel dirty when I listen to them. 😳 )
Would you take Aerosmith over Led Zeppelin?

Journey is my guilty little pleasure - they've got talent.
There's a piano bar I love going to and every time the pianists break out "Don't Stop Believing", three quarters of the audience joins in singing. And you just know the other quarter is wishing they didn't have dignity so they could as well.
I was never a Zep fan. I recognize the fact that they're iconic, amazing, revolutionary and a plethora of other positive adjectives but I can't bring myself to enjoy the music. Personal preference. Aerosmith makes me giddy.
I'm also going to throw out Everclear since I'm a foaming-at-the-mouth fan.
