Hey, I'm a guy and preferably I'm not really into the guy on guy thing, but I'm beginning to find some male characters in manga pretty adorable, mainly Van from Psyren lol. What i want is a light shounen-ai maybe yaoi that has cute guys that aren't too old or manly. I don't want any hard-core stuff just some shy romance since this would be my first BL manga.

Try Café Latte Rhapsody or Hikari no Machi. Super pure, sweet and fluffy romances.

If you feel up to tackling a longer series, try Mainichi Seiten! and its sequels. Some great character driven drama there.

I wouldn't say the guys were like small, shy sort of cute but there is something cute about the two of them together. The only downside for me is there hasn't been any actual scenes of romance yet, you just kinda knows it's coming...eventually. The plot is great and full of action though so I think a guy would definitely like it.

Puchi Puri - shounen ai. It's very cute and sweet, and the age gap brings some interesting conflicts and issues into the story. I'd say it's good for getting into the genre.

Bukiyou na Silent - the uke is probably one of the cutest yaoi characters I've ever seen. He's so innocent and cute~ The romance is a little shy, especially on his part. The seme is pretty loving and nice. It's soft yaoi, as the sex scenes aren't a big part of it.

My first BL manger was Sono Yubi Dake ga Shitteiru
From memory, I coincidently stumbled upon this manga and it unlocked the world of BL manga for me (although i was reading BL fanfiction before that) now 1000+ BL mangas later, it is IMO still one of the best BL mangas out there. Give it a go, you won't be sorry.

I second all of these. Especially Komatta Toki ni wa Hoshi ni Kike!, Seven Days, Golden Days and Let Dai

Also, maybe try Ame nimo Mayuwanai. It's still one of my favorites.
You could also try Yatteraneeze! but I'm not sure if you'd like it.

I would definitely recommend seven days.
I just read it recently n its art&story&plot&characters are pretty good
