This manga is so good and some people at manga fox gave away the ending without a single warning. I'm really shocked, I had just finished reading chap 12, and it had got me so excited...now, I don't really feel like reading it anymore...I could have liked the ending but now....

...I'm giving this a 7/10. I personally am not fond of shounen-ai, and most likely won't continue reading this. However, for the shoujo fan who doesn't mind shounen-ai, this really is much better than your average boring, cliched, shoujo manga. The characters have strong and well-developed personalities; and while they are serious for the most part, they do have their fun. The art isn't really gorgeous or anything, but it's okay. (None of the guys are good-looking, but I thought Yuriko was quite beautiful- also, Aiko was very pretty when her hair was longer.) It will be interesting to see what happened in Grandpa's past; how delving into his teenage years will help Mitsuya deal with his own life; how Mitsuya will get back home; and what exactly it is that Grandpa wanted to do to 'save' Jin. All in all, if you like drama, & themes on family-values, and have the willingness to bear with a lot of not-so-straight jokes (I don't think anything concrete will ever happen here, largely due to the fact that the shounen-ai between Yoshimitsu/Mitsuya and Jin is mostly only on Jin's side); then 'Golden Days' is well worth your time.

It's rather dramatic, with one event happening after another, but despite that slight rush of drama, it's still very interesting. The drawing is lovely (Mitsuya is so pretty! xD), much like rindtron said--clean and simple. The characters are still slightly mysterious, despite the four chapters released, but that only makes me more anxious to learn about them and their quirks. And, goodness! The humor! XDD It's not exactly jam-packed with it, but the relationship between Jin and Mitsuya is total win, with enough homosexual puns to make a fangirl sigh. XD And giggle, and then feel teary. As much as I like shoujo, I have to say that in this case the relationship between Jin and Mitsuya really makes me hope that it develops a little further, but since this was published in Hakuensha, it probably isn't. *cry*
The beginning is a little shaky, what with the narrator's mother and grandfather, and his violin playing (which hopefully will be developed more later on..). But it gets better once he goes back in time, and the manga-ka makes his situation very interesting. What makes this manga only more intriguing are the many questions still left unanswered--what was Mitsu like? What happened to Mitsu after Mitsuya went back in time and took his place? How and when will Mitsuya go back to his time? What will happen to Mitsuya as he learns more about the time period he was transported back to?
I recommend this series to people who like light comedy-drama series, with an interesting plot and pleasing art, and who don't mind shounen-ai. Of course, you might like this manga even if you don't care much for it--it *is* pretty good! Though I really hope that it'll get updated soon.. (

It's interesting with Mitsuya going back in time and everything and the characters don't have wishywashy personalities. And the art is nice, clean and simple-ish.
Though it seems to have some shounen-ai ish moments...?
Edit: Yeah - definite suggestions up until where I've read. I like it. It's very cute. (And makes me want to laugh at times because of the reactions made)
