Does sticking a post-it note that says "you look like a hobo, shave" on his forehead before he wakes up count? Because that's as close to a love note anyone's going to get from me. 😐

Hahaha, that's actually pretty sweet.

I've received them and I wrote one, once... (well, more like forced into writing it).
I don't know what to think of love letters, to be honest. O_O When I got it from guys I didn't like, I cringe. But if I like the guy, it's sweet... but it still depends on what's written in it.

I've received "confession letters" when I was in school - only twice, because mostly ppl just asked me straight out - but none after becoming an adult. It's sad that adults are so unromantic. 🙁 I'd definitely appreciate it.

As for writing 'em, I only write love letters after I'm in a relationship, for some reason - never confession letters, more like established-relationship letters. I mean I'm the sort that writes love notes all the time; I like leaving them on the kitchen table if I'm off for work and have made breakfast (a little love-note on a love-filled breakfast is the best!). I like leaving them on the fridge, sometimes, although those ones are usually half-warnings about the contents of the fridge as well as silly love-talk. Lol. I also like writing proper 5-page love letters on paper and then posting them for special occasions like birthdays and new year's, even if I'm still going to be meeting the target of those letters in person on those days. I'm fully aware that this is very silly but I like doing it anyway. 😀

My BF writes me ridiculously romantic emails, does that count? Not a "standard" love letter but oh well. He's also posted me actual printed love letters, but only when we were living in different cities. I kind of miss that actually...

Idk, I think love letters are really cute and a great idea, provided they're well-written and sincere. My brother had a "prank" love letter given to him in junior high and that was the cruelest thing ever. ;_; Don't play pranks on ppl's hearts! Otherwise it's all good. 🙂

i think that its very cute and romantic!! i would really love it when i guy gives me a love letter anonymously...and then talk to me after that...i know im a hopeless romantic...and also i love it when its a poem...awwww...(well at least its better than text messaging and emails.. >,> )

I've sent love emails and texts. Actually sending physical mail i haven't encountered however. With email and texts you can be more sure that the right person gets it and there is no delay in delivery time. Not in any way "confession letters", but they certainly served their purpose. I guess I like them, though they are less needed if you meet with the person often though it is still nice to send romantic messages if you have been apart from some time (or some of the day).

I'd rather they say it to my face.

A love letter is kind of...eh.
It's like someone asking you out through a text message.
I'd rather hear it from them themselves.

I think I got one a few years ago...I had no idea what it was...I was kind of creeped out because a guy I never talked to or met before gave it to someone to give it to me. It said to reply if I wanted to get to him better. I never replied. Felt a bit sorry but he didn't even know me and I didn't even know him.

It's damn old fashioned, that's what I think it is.
Then again, saying it face to face is probably far older.
Not a fan of the method either way.

Tried to write one once, long long ago 🤣 Didn't finish it.

I guess it can be cute sometimes, but I think it's better to tell the person face to face.

I appreciate it.
I've received some on Valentines Day.. Or just random ones on my desk. They're cute. But yeah, I rather have those words said to me irl.

I have written some before in my past. But I never did send them out. XD

30% of the votes (at the moment) go to "I'd rather they say it to my face". But it's not very romantic to just blurt out: I love you. Many people aren't very good with words, especially when confessing to someone who they have a crush to.

I don't see anything wrong with love letters, but I think it's a lot better to give it in person, rather than hide it somewhere or have someone else pass it on.

It's better to write your thoughts into paper than to confess in person and not manage to put anything you think into words. Though I have seen letters that say nothing really than "I love you" or "I really like you" or something of the sort. Love letters are supposed to convey your feelings to the person you like, not say things like "I like you, please go out with me".

oh wow, it exists in real life. AHHA~ well, its cute if i would ever get that but never did. people blurt it out and stuff... BUT IT ISNT ROMANTIC... ITS AWKWARD... at least letters give you time for a thought process instead of my great life of me screaming "NO! NO! IM DATING SOMEONE ALREADY!!!" RUN oh that boy was so confused....

I think love notes are very cute!
But it would be scary/awkward to receive one from a stranger.

What's a love note?

Love letters are absolutely adorable~! I've only ever gotten two in my entire life, despite the fact that they were both horribly written with several grammatical errors.

I did appreciate them though, and letters are especially sweet since they're being written from the heart. 😉
