Believing in God

Rather than making a new topic, I'm going to bump this.
I can't really respond to the posts above me as I don't care enough, and the people who originally posted them probably aren't around anymore.
Anyway, I don't believe in god/gods. The belief that deities exist has no credibility behind it and no evidence for it.
If a theist wants to make others believe based on logic, clear-thinking, and unbrainwashedness (what do you mean that's not a word?) they had best find some way to prove that their god actually exists.
Sorry, buddy. "Ya just gotta believes!1!!" doesn't cut it.
Am I wrong or do I remember you flaming someone
for resurrecting a dead topic? =,=
Well, nevermind that. 🙂
I have nothing against believers, but
I don't really swallow gods either.

I'm glad I'm agnostic.
Watching people attempt to either prove or disprove the existence of an all seeing, omnipotent god - something that can't be done - looks both painful and redundant in my eyes.
indeed 😀

I'm not sure if anyone has stated this, but I believe that there is a possiblilty that there might be some sort of higher power out there somewhere, it could be some sort of space aliens who landed on earth with some sort of device that created life. But one thing I believe that if there is a god, I hope it is a cute woman.

There should be a 4th option, "Believing in God, but also believe in the scientific theory". I'll never consider myself to be very religious. I didn't grow up in a house where every lessons my mom gave to me were followed by "if you didn't do this, god would punish you or you were not following god's teaching or you were not going to heaven". But then from my understanding of my religion, getting in heaven is not something everyone who does not do anything bad will automatically get into. Only the very very very very very good people get into. Usually everyone just resurrects. My mom was never extremely religious either or maybe my religion just allowed a bit leeway, not extremely constricting or maybe it was just the part of the country where I lived.
I'm also interested in Science, I had read various different theories on the big bang or how the Earth and the Milky Way came to be and how the universe might get blown up one day. Then how it either starts over again or just stay a silent universe. I accept the Big Bang, but somewhere in the back of my mind I also accept the gods of my religion, albeit, I don't think about them everyday. I also understand that part of the religious story of that religion (I'm not going to touch other people's religion), can be not 100% true. It's similar to history and legends of the Vietnamese's culture, you have to understand that some part of the storytelling are myths and legends. But they are proud myths and legends of the country and people. These stories were supposed to give the people hope and strength through rough time and good time.

hmmm, i am not sure that being atheist really means trying to prove there is no god. There base statement is "don't believe in things until given a reason too". So its more about disproving "false" proofs for god.
I also wouldn't consider it redundant al the time. When decisions are based on a faith that not all that are affected by the decision believe, things get complicated.
Example: You don't care if your brother believes in the marschmellow man or not.
Problem: Due to his Belief your brother throws away all non marschmellow food to save the family from hell.
After eating marschmellows for 2 weeks things get ugly, and you try to start persuading your brother that you are not willing to eat marschmellows in order to not go to hell.

Atheist doesn't try to prove that there is no god...
At least I do not. I don't even think about it.
I totally ignore the whole religion. It is not like
I in my mind am trying to explain things to myself.
Still I am not an agnostic, because I don't believe
in god, but that doesn't mean that I all the day
repeat in my head that there is no god.

i believe in god because i'm a muslim and raised as muslim. one wise old guy(forget his name), once told us, do you belive that i miss a ship to come here, and then this tree start falling down and became a ship for me? we told him no coz nothing can exist without a creator.
this is one interesting argument though. nothing can exist without a creator. so would we. we exist because someone created us. it's the allmighty god who created this universe and everything within it.
Let's get Kickin' ...whatever that means

What built god and with what?
There has to be a tool to do that.

At one time I did, when I was a child. As I grew I realized that I only believed in God because everyone around me told me that "it" existed.I began to think for myself and I read a lot of scriptures and what have you about the theory of God.God to me is just a theory created by humans because we need to believe in something and we need a reason for existing. That's why people think that Heaven & Hell exist. We fear death because we don't know what happens after we die and we want to believe that we will go some place better. To put it simple, people hide behind religious beliefs because they are not strong enough to live by their own code.I always find it funny that most people I know who claim that they are God fearing commit the most sins.If God exists then so does the 9-Tails demon fox,Witches,Mummies and Vampires. 🤣
I'm dead mentally!

Conceptions of God held by individual believers vary so widely that there is no clear consensus on the nature of God.As for me ,I will simply say that I am a religious person,I am God fearing as well as God loving.

i thought the word ALLMIGHTY might explain it.

he's existance is absolute. what he made of is not for us to question. but lucky us he gave us the option to believe in him or not. and i chosen to believe in him and his creation without a doubt. sometimes ignorance is a bless.
