Quote from lightning90

he's existance is absolute. what he made of is not for us to question. but lucky us he gave us the option to believe in him or not. and i chosen to believe in him and his creation without a doubt. sometimes ignorance is a bless.

I'm sorry, but that's just plain old bullshit. I'm not supposed to question your god, but I am supposed to believe in it? COME ON.

As for your creation needing a creator argument, you can't honestly believe that it states that your god assuredly exists. Assuming there was something to start matter, it would inevitably have to be very simple in nature. Nothing as complex, or as illogical as your god would have started it.

Ignorance may be blissful, but it is sickening to those of us who choose the route of knowledge. Go ahead and believe what you want, but the externalities of your choice do negatively impact others.

one god, one creator. i do not ask you to believe in him. i simply post my belief in this thread. i do not question my god, i do not question others. believe what you want to believe. god gave us a freewill for a reason.

As bully_jesus said, please try to keep this friendly people.

It's a little hard to remain friendly with people who remain loyal to a system which has destroyed countless cultures and lives over the years.

I can attempt cordiality, but when you meet with people who believe the same things as the people that corrupted your ancestors, it's a little bit difficult to keep a smile on, even over the internet.

I hope you'll understand.

Now that was way overdramatic. Anybody who wants to be able to function in any society has to be able to get along with people who think differently. Now if you are truely so upset by the fact that people are religios you will have to get used to it. The chances of religion being given up by humanity in our lifetime is 0,000000000006%. (yes, i believe that to be an exact number ) We are stuck here on this earth with lots and lots of religios people, thats just the way it is.

Somehow I've made it this far without having to suck up to religious people. I don't think you know what you're talking about when you reference society.

Sure religion won't be phased out within my lifetime, but I can hope that after multiple generations, natural selection will work its course.

I see you can make out the fine difference between "sucking up" and "getting along". Bravo!

He never said he believed in God. He just said the universe is logical and not random.

By the way, that was einsteins famous quote on a subject he was later proven to be wrong about. I doubt anybody was ever right about everything.

How ironic.

Perhaps you should re-read my post. Maybe you'll understand that I can easily get along with theists (as shown by my previous posts in this forum), but I don't feel like sucking up in the sense that Stealth implied I should.

Do you understand? Should I dumb down my statement further?

Has anyone read The God Delusion yet? I personally haven't, but I want to. Maybe I'll order it through my school library.
