shonen or shoujo art?

I don't like the old school shoujo style, but I prefer shoujo art. I like the delicate thin lines and it seems flowy as opposed to geometrical in most shounen manga. They pay a lot of attention to little details too. I like shounen art too, it just depends on the artist (I totally hero worship Takehiko Inoue, Odachi, and some other shounen mangaka).
At its best, I'll pick shoujo.

whichever one where the background is nice 😀
is it just me, or are most shoujo backgrounds all made of flowers?

I like shounen art more than shoujo (the big, cute eyes they draw on heroines drive me nuts), but the weird thing is I read more shoujo than shounen (although the number of shoujos I have been reading recently have been decreasing).

I dislike huge, plate-like eyes
But its like your looking deep into their souls...man they must go thru the eyes drops like crazy during winter.
Their soul is made of plushies and asexuality.

i think the pool doesn't make much sense, manga art has a veeeery wide range of types, you can't really just classify it as shoujo and shounen.

I can instantly tell if it is shonen or shojo. <_<

I'm not too picky; I'll read whatever as long as it's good XD

Depends on the individual artist. Shounen tends to have way too many impossible boobies, while shoujo tends to have the huge eyes & very thin/elongated bodies; overall I think I like shoujo better.
Don't stereotype.. o.O I haven't seen any big boobies in Claymore.. 🤣 And even if there are big boobies, there's usually other female characters who are 'flat'.. So you can't say that isn't realistic.. 🤣 Those mangakas just need an outlet.. 😛
And, ugh, I dislike Shoujo drawings.. >.> Major turn-off when I read Shoujos.. 🤣 But if I like the story, I read it regardless..
I like Shounen much better, much more detailed, instead of sketchy..

there's no one better than Inoue Takehiko when it comes to shounen art,
I don't think we'll ever see a shoujo with art as good as Slam Dunk, but truth be told it wouldn't look right for a shoujo to have a very detailed.

Biggest Inoue Takehiko fan
I totally worship Takehiko Inoue too.. o.O Vagabond's one of my faves.. It's really realistic art..
P.S.: Shounen at its best beats Shoujo at its best, Amaranthine.. 😛

I'd like a MIX of both. I'd prefer the art by Chrono Nanae(the author of Senki Senki Momotama, and Peacemaker), or the art types of 07 Ghost, Amatsuki, Nabari no Oh, and the LATEST art style for Hitman Reborn. 😛
Shoujo is fine. (like art by Morinaga Ai) But NOT those super huge eyes they draw for smut manga. The art from Happy Hustle High also gets on my nerves for some reason 🤢
Shounen is fine too. But just not super muscle guys... 🤢

As mentioned by Ranmaru, I don't think you can always simply lump manga into certain styles. I mean, what exactly defines a shonen style? It could be a boy-orientated manga yet still have more elegant and feminine styles...
Either way, I like the unconventional styles like Taiyo Matsumoto and Daisuke Igarashi, and the hyper-realism works like Katsuhiro Otomo and Seiho Takizawa.

I meant the details in clothes, hair, and stuff.

Really? It's just a matter of taste. Besides, is there an objective way to say whether Monet or Picasso is the better artist? (Uh, I don't know much about art, I just know what I like and why I like it)
both are quite the same there are some bad shounen(ex: one pieces, don't flame me XD, it's my personal opinion) and also bad shoujo
anyway kaori yuki is awesome ^^
however seinen art is usually better than those genres (I believe vagabond belongs to this category)

Shoujo.
Because I like the whole flowery/sparkly/glowy/like cotton-candy effect.
And it pales in simplicity compared to Shounen with its action scenes along with the me getting totally lost at the latter.
