NEW SERIES! Avatar: The Legend of Korra

I'm rewatching Avatar : The last airbender in honor of this, and it's a LOT better then I remember. Maybe I just appreciate the humor more, as well as how it's thrown in at basically every tense moment and just makes everything light-hearted and fun, but still knows when to be seriously. It's kinda like the fire x-men - they know they're cooky, and they embrace it without trying to cover it up and take themselves too seriously (see the third x-men).
I just hope that the new serious does the same, or if it takes itself very seriously, it better be worthy of that seriousness.

Dont want to piss off people but here are few facts they have to get over if they want this to be a success, 1st, the avatars in their previous lives as far as i can remember werent they all male?,2nd doesnt he have to come from an air bender?, unless u can make air benders from thing air guess aang wasnt the last air bender after all ^^. People talked to anng as if he was the reincarnation of the previous avatars and u all know how reincarnation mean its the same soul so this new girl will share anng's soul? making it 70 years seems pretty fast for a reincarnation.
Before someone starts flamming me 😛 I didnt actualy saw the thing, people were always spoiling me the show that somehow i lost interest in watching it. I did saw the movie but somehow it had a diferent feeling from how i felt the show so IT must be a somehow diferent plot(no wonder 2nd part is no where to be seen).
You said that as far as you can remember, there were only male Avatars, which makes me think that you saw some of the episodes, but early in the FIRST season, like the third episode, they tell you about a female Avatar. 😃 And if I'm deciphering what you're saying up there right 😕 , no reincarnations, whether real world (Buddhist/cultural) or Avatar world, requires a blood relation for it to occur. 😃 Just saying
Alice came to a fork in the road.
"Which road do I take?" she asked.
"Where do you want to go?" responded the Cheshire cat.
"I don't know," Alice answered.
"Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter."

I read somewhere that Korra would be a girl and that she's mastered all the elements except Air, so she goes to learn it from Katara and Aang's son Tenzin. Saw the trailer and it looked more modern, like the 1930's or something. looks interesting, can't wait!

So, anyone else watch the leaked episode?
So far no complaints, aside from my least favorite character from the old series apparently being one of the only one's still around.

Just watched the leak. And I like it a lot. The pacing was a little odd, but the first series started out pretty shaky as well. I got to say I'm really looking forward to more. =D

I just watched it, and I really like it; I'll definitely be watching the rest as soon as it becomes available.

Is this thread alive? 😕
If it is, what do you guys think of the episodes? I've heard a lot of positive and some negative things (mostly about Korra's attitude or the lack of original Gaang members), but I really enjoy it so far. Though I predict it's going to get dark, fast. Thoughts?

I think its intriguing, its morally ambiguous at times and now we see that start of an intriguing story so not quite cut and dry and lighthearted as the original. The side characters do seem a bit recycled( I mean even the animals are pretty much exactly the same), I'm glad that Korra is not like Aang at all though so thats always good. The fights are much much better this time around, reminds me of the last season of the original series, much more detailed and exciting and if they reach the fight level of the last battle in Last Airbender then we're in for some exciting stuff.

Yeah, there were times when Aang annoyed me, so Korra's hothead personality is a good change. Another thing I've been extremely pleased with is the music. There should be a soundtrack release when this is all over.
Also, I have to say I'm looking forward to a few "silly" episodes. Like Ember Island Players was to the original.
