I was looking for the All of them option.
That said, in any one of them, there will be a series that hits the cliche's and is still good. That is the difference between an average Mangaka and a superior one.
After all, Inuyasha remained that long because Rumiko Takahashi creates wonderful characters and a fun story line.
With the sports, at least that genre exposes readers to sports they might know nothing about.
With any of the overdone genre's how often do we start reading a new series thinking: I hope this is a good one!

Often the difference between Harem and the lead male being a playboy is whose side of the story are you telling? A longterm relationship with 2 is hard enough. Threesomes are harder to maintain. Add more into the mix and you are in fantasy land.
If you are just looking for endless fighting, go to uTube. That way, you won't have a plot get in the way.

Guess I just like manga that is really good, regardless of the genre.
