Yes that does not prove that saiyans are a greater
race in power than kryptonians.

Superman isn't exactly a fighter, doesn't have any martial art skills, but he has unlimited energy and can travel at the speed of light. Lastly, it took less time for him to achieve his full potential than goku.

Goku is a fighter with many techniques, limited energy (he can't stay in ss4 form forever) and instant displacement.

Overall, Goku will lose of exhaustion.

well technically super man has a hell of alot more techniqes than the ones listed. if we are tlking about the original golden age superman he would have time travel abilities be as fast as the flash and he would also be able to erase ppl'z memories. for the most part superman suppresses his powers and abilities so not to kill his opponent and to also prevent destruction around him. And depending on his proximity to the sun or how many suns are around him he can grow stronger. Or for example if he had the Superboy-Prime suit that collects the suns radiation plus him being bathed in the rays of multiple suns we wouldn't know what kind of abilities he would have.

superman can't suffocate to death he would go into a coma and until he could gain access to air again. He has this weird ability to slow down his body to adapt and heal.

Superman is all powerful in they eyes of humans. That doesn't make Superman anywhere near as strong as Goku.

-Speed = Goku moves faster than speed of light(at the end of dragonball Z) without need for Instant Trans(instant trans goes way beyond light speed)

-Power by scale of destruction goes to goku(Vegeta was able to destroy planets when he first came to earth, with that being said goku is stronger than vegeta was then.)

-Level of destruction(Cell games) the ability to kill someone down to the cells. Cell was a monster able to take out an army within a second, after allowing them to attack him without taking any damage.

-Stronger Body = ability to take damage goes to goku as well, due to the fact that his body is stronger than cells by a long shot.

-Pure Power = when goku fights and his fist connects with the other fighter the land around him is destroyed.

Goku in SSJ1 is faster,stronger,tougher and has his years of fighting to back him up. Superman would just get killed without knowing what hit him.

There is really no way to really say or compare their fighting abilities to one or another to the extent that one is better since you have nothing to compare them to. My opinion is that Goku should be much stronger due to the intensity of his fighting compared to Superman.

The only definite answer is that Superman will win in the long run. It has been shown that Superman can basically outlive Goku thus he would win. Of course this is really due to the nonsensical delusions of many writers who interpret Superman the way they see fit.

My vote is for Goku based on the original canon of the story. Anything after that, Superman will always win because they always give him crazy ass uber god like powers with his only flaw being kryptonite.

When Goku landed on Earth after Trunks had defeated Frieza and King Cooler, Goku claimed he could have teleported to Earth in and instant. Trunks asked how, and thats when Goku first revealed 'instant transmission'.

Since it takes years for light to reach us from even the closest stars, apart from our sun, that would mean that instant transmission must be immeasurably faster than light to get him to Earth almost instantly.

So I would say Goku has the upper hand in both speed and skill.

Goku's power probably rivals 'superman prime', if you consider that when Cell was fighting with Gohan for the second time, Cell made the claim that he had enough energy to blow up the whole solar system. When Gohan and Cell crossed beams, the Z fighters were afraid the whole planet was going to be destroyed, despite the beams not even being aimed at the planet.

SSJ4 Goku is way out of Cell's league, so Goku must have a lot more energy than would be required to blow up the solar system.

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to go with Goku because even for all his coolness and power Superman doesn't have as much skill as Goku (though he would probably put up one heck of a fight) 😃

Even if it takes Goku to long to take out superman all he needs to do is turn into a monkey and eat superman...

No matter how indestructible superman is, the acid of a huge, badass, alien monkey's stomach will eat through him at some point!

And to all of you sun loving guys, I went ahead and checked, there is no sunlight in any stomach. More so if it the stomach of a huge, badass, alien monkey.

And we don't even have to go that far to see that superman is a loser.

The strongest man in the DB/Z series if I'm not mistaken is Kririn.
And Kririn is the beach of 17, a man made robot.

So you can see from here that Goku win's hands down even before the fight starts.
Superman= A super man.(I know he's an alien too but his name states that he is a super man, meaning he is superior amongst men)
Goku= A super saiyan.

And now you say Goku is even stronger he is SUPER SAIYAN number 4, lets see you handle that puny superman...

Don't forget that Goku's instant transmission technique requires him to "lock on" (for lack of a better term) to someone's chi and teleport to that person's general vicinity. Goku can't just teleport anywhere he wants to (like Nightcrawler in the X-2 film), though given how fast Goku is, it's not like he'll need to.

My only firsthand experience with Superman is what I've seen on tv (i.e. the films, Smallville, and the Justice League animated series), and based on those I'd say Goku would win since he seems superior in strength and skill. Goku during the cell games would be more than enough for Superman. One earth-destroying-caliber kamehameha (not aimed at the earth, of course) and Superman's vaporized, or at least knocked out, and I can see Goku just manhandling Superman in a close range fist fight.

But looking at how Superman's powers have portrayed over the years (according to Wikipedia), such as physically moving planets, light speed travel, not having the need for food/water/air, flying through the core of a frickin' star, I'd agree with Makoz and say that Superman wins an endurance battle.

honestly, it's superman. why? because of their concepts. superman is a beloved comic and icon that, to this day, is seen in multiple media sources including comic books, movies, animation, etc, while goku has had a 42 volume run, with an animated series and movies...plus an embarrassing movie remake that we'd like to forget about. though it may seem like a lot, the series hasn't moved anywhere since the end of GT, i mean, does anyone else think that kai hasn't really brought anything new to the table? really, with no apparent stop to the superman franchise, what superman can do and what he can't do will always change with new writers and the possibilities of what the extent of his powers are is endless but for goku, what he can do beyond what is shown is only left to the readers imagination.

Well, it is a manga forum, after all, I'm guessing most votes will go to Goku.

But, I really don't know.

If it was an endurance match, Superman, easily.

But from pure strength and fighting experience, Goku, no questions asked.

I'm not too familiar with the DC universe (except for Batman) or Dragon Ball Z, but the forum topic sounded cool so I thought I would check it out.

Anyway I remember hearing from someone that Superman is also weak to magic attacks. If that is true then surely Goku would have the advantage? (I'm assuming of course that Goku's Spirit Bomb attack is a form of magic, so please correct me if I'm wrong).
