@amaranthine,
Eh, you mean, make-up do not really usually hurt even if it goes to your eyes?

I thought you were talking about your skin... I've never experienced makeup pain though, so idk O_O

I put eyeliner and mascara on a daily basis and it's usually my eyelashes that hurts like a biatch when it gets to my eye. Oh and after crying with mascara on one time, I just stick to buying waterproof ones.

No, she misread or misunderstood.

EDIT: Didn't notice the new page. Never mind.

Crying with non-waterproof is more dramatic. Depends on where your priorities lie. Must say I'm with you on this one though.

Thanks, both of you ^^

Crying with the non-waterproof one is really messy, but I guess it doesn't go to your eyes then...

Yes I did 🤣 I saw BB cream and forgot that he was originally talking about his eye. I imagine sweat in your eyes would hurt, so maybe makeup exacerbates it.

It shouldn't, at least, not as much as water would, because of the salt. For the same reason those eye drop things in first aid kits are 0.9% NaCl, it's the same as what's in your body and so doesn't sting your eyes either. Basically tears and sweat have the same salt content. Although, with sweat you can get impurities to your eye and therefore it might sting a little.

So I decided to catch up with technology and got myself a smartphone. But I'm not quite sure how the Internet in the phone really works (none of my previous phones had any kind of Internet connection) and I have a few (probably very stupid) questions:

  • I decided to only use wi-fi because it's available in the places where I want to use the Internet. Is it free? I think I've disabled all the "connect to the Internet automatically" options.
  • My phone came with chrome and some google apps pre-installed, as well as a few games. Is using these free? I mostly mean chrome, because it seems I can either use it or just "Internet" to see websites. (unless I'm an idiot and it's the same thing)
  • Do all apps require an Internet connection?
  • What's the difference between using a, say, Youtube app and using the Youtube website? In other words, what's the app for, if you can just visit the website?

Sorry for these, I'm really clueless about smartphones. I know that's a lot of questions, but I don't think I should create a separate post for this, so I just replied here.

I think it depends on your plan.
Do you have unlimited data?
If not I believe using a wi-fi connection shouldn't effect the limited data usage you have.

  • So if you're connected to the internet in your house. It's just like a laptop internet wise, and wouldn't effect your cell phone bill.

Any pre installed apps are free, if they are a demo it'll always ask if you want to buy the full version.
Yes using chrome is free, but again this depends on your internet. (connected to a wi-fi, or your phone is using 2-4g? not sure what that's called.)

No, not all apps require internet connection to use. You'll need the internet to install apps, but not all of them use it. Most would say if it does, and you can even set those to only be used if only connected to wi-fi.

Ok so the difference between youtube the website and the app. Well IMO the app is better on a phone. With the app you can still listen to a song, and search for something else. It's faster ... idk it's hard to explain.
In a sense apps are shorten more simplified versions of websites, so instead of loading a whole page it only loads the important stuff?

So I took some screenshots to better explain what I meant ...
Website website 2
App, app while searching something else
It just loads slightly faster if you use the app.

As it seems like you have an android phone. One thing that I like from them app store wise is that you don't have to put in your credit card info. (With apple products you do) so if you run into an app that cost money, it'll bring up a window for your info, then you think "Oh it's not free, oops" and hit cancel. (Although you could always set a password for the apple product, I'd rather not put in my credit card info in the first place).

I hope these answers help.

  1. Wi fi being free really depends on the places where you're going to use them. Not everyone gives them out for free. Usually the management has you pay on an hourly basis or so. Unless of course it's a free wi fi zone as in starbucks.

  2. The pre-installed apps are free. You won't be paying anything to buy them. However you will most probably have to pay to surf online since you will be using wi fi or 3G or some other means to connect to the net.

  3. Again it depends on the app you are planning on using. I think most apps work both offline and online. You can do whatever work you want offline and whenever net connection is available your apps will get updated or get synced.

  4. This is only a guess since I am not sure. The only difference I have noticed is the lack of address bar at the top of the page. Silly I know.

EDIT: Was beaten to it by kitty 😐

1.If you're phone (sim card) doesn't have an unlimited Internet connection and you're on post paid,
Only use the net if there is a wiifi available or it will cost you, really, I guess the rate is per hour??...
In my case, it's unlimited call, text and Internet....
If it says, "free wiifi" then it's free, even if it's not free, your network won't be charging you anyway cause it's wiifi and is not from them...

2.Yes, they are free, but I suggest Mozilla Firefox, for its add ons that are free..

3.Not all, but if you have an Internet connection, it's better so you can connect with friends (for games, it will synchro with your FB)
Almost all my apps and games requires Internet, No net means no Use for me...

4.Mobile YouTube for me is just so sad, if you don't use the full screen, the screen is really small (about 1/4 of the screen), so I always use the Website one (desktop view), no difference at all...

Some apps and games cost money though,
if you're using Play Store, Check if it have a price, if it's free, it only says 'install'

About the applications. Websites are designed for PCs, some have mobile versions. The applications render the website in a convenient way specifically for your smart phone. If the application is stable it's usually the better choice for sites you use often.

If you access a free wifi, then it's free. "Internet" is your OS's build-in web browser, you can also use another browser, but the updates are done thorough the build-in browser, though you might be able to change that.

Also, if you use your operator's internet connection, the cost depends on your contract. Often a time there's a monthly fee for unlimited internet nowadays. You should check it out. If you're going to use wifi exclusively there's no point in paying such fees.

Nothing else to add to kitty's reply.

I think this is the correct place for exactly these kinds of questions.

EDIT: I guess I opened this page a long time ago as it's got two more replies already...

LOL "too hard to comprehend" a general term.
Yeah. Good one.

P.S Don't try to diss my comprehension skills when your English don't even meet high school standards.
