Random Questions "Attempt II"

There's probably a reason behind it as it works for my family when we're sleep deprived (like right now) though I don't know what it's called.
However, it is not good for one's health... it weakens the immune system, which explains why I feel like I might get a cold soon.
I've found it works best when you've been pushing yourself all week with only a few hours sleep each night, then on the sixth day your sitting trying to stay awake then all of a sudden you realize you just woke up from 30min-1hr nap and it's as if your not even tired any more.

It's not something you should do regularly, but yes, it can work - at least for some people.
When I just can't keep my eyes open and mind focused at work, I can 'power nap' for 15-30 minutes and be better off than I would have been if I hadn't tried to rest for a bit. There's no point in trying to force yourself to focus at those times - it's a waste of time and energy.
If you've ever thought or said "Nice Guys finish last" and really meant it, then you should probably read this LJ post by DivaLion. It's incredibly insightful whether you're male or female.

I created a GIF image, and when viewed on the computer/browser it works. When I upload it as an avatar, it doesn't. What's the deal 😕

Got it to work. It was 12.3kb (now less than 7kb), but I had a previous avatar with a bigger file size than that though, and it worked. Thanks, though~

Question about soft lens contacts~
Is it okay to wear a contact that had previously dried up (then re-soaked)? _____
One morning, I put on my contacts and there was some lint on my left contact.
When I tried to take out my contact to clean it, it fell somewhere and I couldn't find it. =. I was too blind to see it D;
Anyway, later on that night, I found it, dried up into a raisin. =\
(like folded over, slightly wrinkly, clear piece of plastic.)
When I soaked it in the solution for a few hours, it reverted back into it's normal shape. But you never know what can change about the contact...
So has anyone re-soaked a "raisin contact" and actually wore it for more than a few hours? Is it possible for the contact to shrink and/or become less "breathable?"
I can always get a new box of contacts, but these were new from the package and I was quite careless. 😢

^^^I've done that before, although it irritated the heck out of my eye so I ended up throwing it away anyways. There was a ridge on the edge that never quite disappeared. I don't know if it has any serious effects on your eyes, otherwise. I wear my contacts until they practically break, because I'm poor 🤣
Anyone out there ever been a participant in an artist alley of any convention? As a participant, are you expected to actually be able to create/draw right then and there? It's one thing to do that beforehand and bring them in, but I was wondering if it's also expected that you should be able to draw in front of the con-goers, like commissions...?

I've seen many artists that just sit there with their handheld consoles and play throughout the day.
You're not really expected to draw then and there...but it helps selling the idea that you actually made the stuff you're selling.
There are artists who do commissions during the con to help them pass the time and also widen their target audience a little bit and some others finish of the commissions at home then mail them later (but of course, if you could finish it during the con, that would be much better)

"ignorance is bliss"
😕 When someone is unaware of a situation that would otherwise be unnerving for them to handle, they are in bliss because they are oblivious to hectic things/situations that are befalling others/may befall them.
It's sort of like when I was young, and I wasn't quite aware what meat was. I was ignorant to the fact that I was eating dead animals. This is just a relevant example though.
But of course google explains it better: "if you do not know about something, you cannot worry about it."
Pretty much means that ignorant people are more blissful because they are ignorant, opposed to how they would be if they were aware, and not oblivious/ignorant.
As for a friend in need is a friend indeed....The wording screws with my head. I've heard it before, but I can't explain it because the wording makes no sense to me, although I know what it means.

I think it just means that's a true friend since they come to your help when needed. O_O
Unless it's a play on the word "indeed" then it might mean that when a friend needs your help they'll try to do good things (deeds) to please you.
Though I'm guessing it's the former.

I always thought it meant that a friend in need will always be friendlier, because they need something from you. Indeed means truly, really, etc. So they are only a true friend when they want something.
@Scy - Thanks much for responding!
Lists question:
When going to "My Lists" at the bottom page of every list there are options for comments, by choosing "don't show comment" does that mean that your comment won't be shown to others on series page or just when others want to see your lists?
I'd check myself but I don't want to submit a half-assed comment and have no way to delete it afterward. D:

@baesooky
I think choosing "don't show comment" will just not show the link/preview to your comment on your public lists, but your comment will still be there on the series page. People who visit your public manga list will not know which series you've commented on unless they've visited the series page.
I'm late at responding, but thanks Masami for the answer! 😉

I think it means that a true friend is there for you when you're in need.
...or you can look at it the other way around and it'll mean that only when someone is in need will they act friendly towards you.
I guess it applies to both...in a way
"ignorance is bliss"
