The term "smut" has long since been explained on the forum therefore I suppose the vague definition placed on the genre page to create problem. Even if the genre itself still lacks clarification (although I believe yblees' thought to be understandable enough), a linkage between genre and demographic may help. I would like to ask, if it is possible to add a note like "female-oriented" or "can be applied only to shoujo and josei" to the smut's description. I also happened to run into series labeled as both smut and ecchi once (what was utterly senseless), so it would be advisable to mark ecchi as "male-oriented" genre or "can be applied only to shounen and seinen" as well.
