well, first poll i made, but have been wanted to make the question for a while.
For those that aren´t entirely one or the other i added two more options.
Well, in my case i´m more pessimistic than optimistic, maybe because i think there is more chances for things to go wrong than to go the right way.

-.- Can't believe there are people who don't know what those mean.. Heres a description.

Pessimistic means you always look at the bad stuff, and you ALWAYS expect something bad to happen. Anything and everything will and can go wrong for Pessimistic people.

Optimistic means you always look on the bright side of things. Say you do something wrong, then a very Optimistic thing to say would be, "Well, I can learn from my mistakes." Another very often used Optimistic saying would be, "Look on the bright side of things."

Personally, I'm more Optimistic then pessimistic, although occasionally I can be VERY pessimistic.

i was doubting there were "neutral" people, forgot to put the "other" option in the poll.

More pessimistic than optimistic, but with a "hope for the best but plan for the worst" kind of mindset.

I like to think myself a realist, actually... (Or, I attempt to be one.)

I think I am, on the whole, sliiightly more optimistic than pessimistic, though, which makes me sad. Optimism kinda sucks... The unending cycle of getting your hopes up just to let them shatter into a thousand painful pieces isn't all that pleasant. I actually make a conscience effort to be pessimistic about certain things, sometimes.

But, really, it all depends on the subject. I'm rather pessimistic about life and the "inherent good" of humanity and stuff like that, but I get my hopes up about events more often (a friend coming to visit, snow days, etc) than not. So... shrugs I dunno.

I think everyone should aim for realism, though; it's a good combination of the goods of optimism (actually bothering to try in life, not becoming entirely depressed) and pessimism (not getting your hopes up insanely high, lack of emotional roller-coasters)... It's just somewhat difficult to achieve at times.

Hmm I'm realistic but more fatalistic as well.

I'm pretty optimistic. But when I do get pessimistic (which is rare), I get emo. But again, that is rare.
