I feel obligated to point out that Deadman Wonderland takes a month inbetween translated chapters because it's a monthly manga and we translate them from the monthly magazines once every month when they get to me that month. Aside from this month, because the authors are taking a month off. (enough months in there?)
I third Doubt (TONOGAI Yoshiki), btw. The plot seems to be dragging a bit in the most recent chapters, but the psychological and mystery elements are strong with this one. Very strong indeed.
And since you seem to be asking for story elements that are my personal favorites, I think you'd like survival manga as well. And to that end, I recommend Drifting Classroom and Bio Meat.

For your first request, the only one I can think of at the moment is Ahiru no Oujisama. He's a total dork, and through a wish he becomes good looking. But despite his new appearance, he is still a wimp.
Oh and by the same author My Barbaric Girlfriend, but I'm not sure that counts because he's only a guy for the first chapter. After that he is a wimpy guy in a girl's body.
I don't think either of those guy's are otakus though...
