Well.. I never really enjoyed the games after the 2nd gen but, pokemon is pokemon and I probably will get one of the two, depending on which version exclusive pokemon I like better.
The new starters are pretty bleh too....

The grass one reminds me of Excalibur from soul eater.
The new starters look weird 😐
Like the new trainers though 😀 . They say the new trainers are going to be older then the previous games, though i dont think it really makes a difference

Worst starters ever, especially the water one. Typhlosion is still the best one!

I think the original 3 are the best 😀
Plus ur comparing a final evolved form with the 1st stage of the new starters. Obviously the final stage is always better then the basic. Wait till u see the final evolutions before you compare them to the other starters, but comparing the new starters basic forms to previous generations basic forms then yes they are the worst starters. But like everything else they'll grow on u with time 🤣

I dunno. I spent 500-600 hours on Pokemon Diamond and I really shouldn't get addicted to another Pokemon again with so many JRPGs I have procrastinated with left on my shelf.

I doubt those first forms will grow on me, even the 4th gen didn't look this weird and there was a fucking flaming monkey.

ARGH...goddamn chimchar!
(I hated 95% of 4th gen pokémon)
After the release of HG and SS (which are freaking awesome), I was excited about the announcement of Black and White.
...
Then I saw the legendary (?) for it
...
and then I saw the starters.
KTHXBAI
The designers have obviously run dry since 3rd freaking gen. Why make more?! They just don't have a pokémon feeling to them AND they're goddamn fugly.
If they had just included all pokemon from 1-3rd gen with a whole new setting, I think the sales would be far more than whatever Black and White are gonna bring in 😐
@Nisseman
BTW, as cool as Typhlosion is, it is NOT a starter :\

actually it is a starter, its the second generation fire starter. Its just the final evolved form but still a starter pokemon non the less

Honestly, I haven't played a Pokemon game I really liked after the first game. The second was good too but not so much as the first.
Over the years just too much crap has been added. There's the berries, poffins, acorns (or something), shinies, breeding, etc. I don't even know what half that stuff is.
I just want to take my team of cuddly and spikey critters, and then bite and burn and cut and drown and poison other teams of critters. No need for all that other nonsense.
Also, the starters have sucked pokeballs since past the second game, first still being the best. With the exception of piplup, but that's cause penguins are awesome.

Erm...sorry to be technical, but a final evolution is not a starter.
A starter is a starter (duh?)
In this case, Cyndaquil/Hinoarashi is the starter.
And yeah, Cyndaquil rocks.

i really dont want to make a discussion of this but starter pokemon are the 3 pokemon you choose in the beginning of each game. After picking ur 1st pokemon and training it evolves but its evolution is still considered a starter b/c it belongs in the same evolution family. Also. unlike the version exclusive pokemon, the starters are in all the games but once you pick one you cant get the other 2 except by trading. You wouldnt call a pidgey a starter or any other non evolved pokemon starters would u?

And the new Pokemon look like some toys and they're not one bit memorable. The first generation Pokemon still look like pretty realistic. About shinies, I had seen the red Gyarados but I had no idea it was a shiny, and then I encountered a golden Poppo (in Crystal) and I was like "...what the hell is that thing?". I think the shinies were pretty nice add, but I'm biased: I also got a golden hitokage and golden crab (the next day after the golden hitokage).
Also, the new stories suck and the playable characters are boring.
Far-off places with sweet sounding names.

Normally I love pokemon but this new gen looks terrible. The starter pokemon are just plain out smfugly. Not that big a fan of the new trainer chick. Kinda looks like a freaking slut if you ask me
.> They seem to get worse as each generation goes on......It's depressing really.
