I've caught all 493 pokemon

Didn't they teach you how to count in school? There's 151 pokemon, or perhaps 251—no more.

My pokedex would disagree. And no, I didn't learn how to count in school.
Edit: But surely you can't count if you're unsure about the difference between 151 and 251. >.>

Your pokedex is defective. And I can count. It's an equation that gives two possible answers. They're both on the line, see? Oh, but if you can't count, you probably don't. If you didn't learn to count in school at all, I doubt you can do any hard equations (unless you had home tutoring or are obsessed by math), so perhaps you should just trust what other people tell you about this.
I think gentlebeast is talking in terms of Pokémon caught overall, rather than individually per game. As the national Pokédex in the forth generation is a total of 493; Arceus being the last; only 483 being 'caught' normally.

I believe gentlebeast simply does not recognise any and all pokemon introduced after the second game.
Which is a sentiment I can get behind, any pokemon past No. 251 sucks balls.

Yep...

The first generation introduced us a good game with an interesting plot line (for pokemon)
The second generation "Gold and Silver" changed a lot of things, it was still the same game, but the night and day elements gave it a FRESH feeling and the plot was seriously improved, not to mention the world was seriously bigger.

Everything after that is crappy plots... Lines and Stripes robo pokemon and extremely crappy plots that just PALE in comparison to the second generation (the first gets the bonus of being the first game).

THAT is what most people think about pokemon games

Perhapes, however, millions of people, myself included, play it for the insane amount hours it can absorb from your life; at least in that aspect it surpasses the old games. In another case, I've never known anyone to pay £30.00 for the 6 hour long story mode Pokémon games have to offer; I'm sure you can agree with that. 🙂

Question, how does not being able to count have anything to do with seeing if something is on the same line? Surely that has to do with... Seeing... And not... Counting? Also, I would like to know this equation.

Of course you need to be able to count to know if something's on the same line, unless someone's already counted it for you, or better, already drawn the line and placed the numbers on it. If you had calculated it, you'd know that 151 and 251 are on the same line. That means either one is the right answer, depending on which you prefer.

Even if I told you the equation, you couldn't count it. But why would ordinary person want to calculate if the sun is going to rise the next morning too (or perhaps evening), since your common sense likely can answer that one for you. And if your common sense is damaged, then you just need to rely on what other people (in this case, I) tell you.

But if it's not enough to convince you that sun is going to rise the next morning because it's done so every morning until now, then perhaps you should start studying physics (on in this case, mathematics).

You want to know what I think? I think there's no such pokemon as Arceus. Perhaps it's a digimon?

Are you saying that the first generations' story mode was only six hours long? If so, are you also saying that you don't know anyone who bought the first generation games? Or are you saying that the newer ones are worth to pay more for? If so, then why waste that kind of money for some hand-held game, when you can get a much better game for twice the price, or a jet plane for... many more times the price?

Your right, I didn't elaborate enough on the point, I was trying to make; to answer your questions. Yes, Pokémon Red, Yellow, Blue, Gold, Leaf Green, XD and Platinum all took me roughly 6 hours too plow through the main story; I can speak on the behalf of my 'mates' and say, that they have as well(we are die hards I guess). It was later, I spent my time training better stronger Pokémon, that the time spent overall became 200+ hours O.o. "Money", I got plenty of that waste but I wouldn't say Pokémon was ever a waste of money. I got what I paid for. What can I say, I grew up with pokémon, so naturally, I can easily debate with sensible people on such a subject. As for your Arceus quote, all I can say is lol.

Surely you jest!
You obviously have seen the pattern, but you have also obviously ignored the lack of creativity in the makers.
Ever since 3rd generation, things have gotten lamer and lamer. What we used to know as Pokémon was eventually turned to look like some fucked up digimons.

Mythril? Orihalcon? Adamantium?

No. If they have had thought up of that, there would be no more creativity left for the actual game. Hell, even by thinking of "Black" and "White", they've already ran out on so much of so.

They thought it would be cool to make a leaf-type chikorita, a pig that roasts things other than itself, and a fucking sea otter that looked like it came out of bloody Disney's PB&J Otter (I mean, what's Buizel then, chopped liver?) - but it's holding a shell, so it HAS to be good, right?! -.-

I commend them for giving the female lead an age-jou hairstyle though...but that's about it :\

The series is dead.

If STEVEN STONE is in it, then this game is going into my hands.

OR... POKEMON RUBY AND SAPPHIRE REMAKES. Oh shit, that would make my decade.

Reshiram (the white one) is the cover Pokémon for Pokémon Black.
Zekrom (the black one) is the cover Pokémon for Pokémon White.

...I'm not so sure.
