I usually download and use MangaMeeya to read, but MangaToshokan is virus free and often has chapters of older series that I can't find elsewhere.

Thanks Lightningfast35! Mangafox and mangavolume both have viruses (I've been told), this site has some mangas I've been looking for!

I prefer downloading it so I can have it on my computer and won't have to bother if my internet is being spazzy and slow.

And it's useful for when I'm in a car for 8 hours driving to New Orleans. Having manga right there helps pass the time. 😛

  1. Download
  2. Read
  3. Delete
  4. Buy if available in my country, or if I can import it from the USA.

That seems kind of cruel... 🤣
As for me I always download because I easily lose patience waiting for images to load. When I download something I can never delete it even if it's trash. And because my computer always lacks memory I burn everything to CDs...

i think the right question would be: "why are you asking why they are as popular as it is??"
i mean... i for one is an online reader... why?? because its convenient and i dont have to download anything.. if you dont like something theres no more erasing and stuff just going back a page... i like it that way actually... i think its like going on one night stands... you do it.. but not getting married!!! 🤣 nice analogy huh?/

I find them quicker and less work than downloading.

Download process-
1- start download (frequently something like MegaUpload where you have to wait a minute or so before it even starts)
2- wait for download (usually pretty quick, but it's still a delay)
3- unzip download (navigate to where you want to unzip it to)
4- read

Online reader-
1- read (slight loading time between pages, usually too short for me to notice. Essentially the short download from above split into 20 tiny pieces)

Sometimes I'm just too lazy to find and download something. Other times I'm on a computer that isn't mine. But usually I do prefer to use MangaMeeya or windows picture viewer. Online readers come with slowness, noisy ads, and annoying pop-ups.
