that's so messed up...I only heard about this today in Lab Bio. it was only because we were studying genetics and how some kids can be born with problems and stuff. As an example we had cousins that had kids, and their kids came out a little on the messed up side, then someone brought up the case and a lot of people in our class hadn't heard about it so our teacher told us about it, he didn't tell us that much because he wasn't feeling that comfy with going into detail about the case......but yeah, just found out today. It's so sad for the daughter 😢 that man should be killed in a very cruel way, make him suffer >:-( >:-( !!

Nah I'd just shove him into a cell with a huge facist named Hanz who likes penis a little more than usual.

Yeah! I like the way you both think...

MU, a place where so many evil characters gather (and I mean this as the highest compliment as usually is only when is warranted)... sight!... I just love this place...

That guy is a fucking SICKO!! I'd put him in a room filled with horny black men who haven't seen a you-know-what for years and then I would laugh at him!

This is Austria, finding a whole room of black men would be quite difficult.

What do you mean with "one sided" ? How can there be two sides about this case ?

He probably means the fact that the Austrian guy has serious mental problems, and he should first need medical treatment.

I disagree though. Somewhere on the pages posted here it said that he seemed extremely impassible about his actions and he didn't show a bit of remorse (and do I have to remind you he held a woman who lost her entire youth locked up in a basement, giving birth to children in horrible conditions, without medical assistance?)

Yeah, he does have mental problems (probably along the lines of a slight multiple personality, in which one of them is a schizoid with an extreme sex drive) but still if we're going by that idea, every single criminal in the world is mentally ill and should need treatment rather than punishment, and as you see there's a slight moral problem there. By that logic Osama bin Laden should be put in a mental facility rather than in jail, receiving care, attention and medicine while other people are dying on the streets because they don't get any attention from the media or w/e.

It's quite a problem that he only got found out extremely late in his life, so any punishment is pretty much useless, he did what he meant to do, got away with it for 30+ years, had his share of fun in life and with his daughter and got caught only when life was boring anyway and being in jail doesn't mean losing an important part of his life when he could still screw his daughter and deliver effed-up babies after babies.

First off he should be castrated imo. He doesn't need "it" anymore anyway.

I hate it when a woman says that. -.-

And no, I didn't mean that. I feel so misunderstood~ ;-;

Gah, I wrote a short response instead of a long one in the hopes I wouldn't get addressed. Oh well~ 🤣 Maybe I should have wrote a long one, since most people don't even read that. .__.

As a reminder, I'm not defending anyone here. I hardly know the guy, so what reason would I have? I'm just saying this thread is so one-sided. It's all; "Yeah, that guy should receive the most horrible punishment; He's evil! and Poor woman, and her children, I hope they'll be alright."

Come on, won't anyone play the devil's advocate? It isn't interesting reading a thread with only one point of view. .__.

So, first of all, none of you know the guy and still judge him based on one act. Don't you need to know all the facts first to judge correctly? For all we know, the guy thinks perfectly normal (don't get why people suddenly think he's mental or something, we're capable of such things after all, too) and thinks just like us. It probably is like that.

Another thing is that media overexaggerates/bends truth always. Media is also not all-knowing, so don't believe everything. View everything with a bit of sceptism. ... Though TV is always right! Never doubt it!

(Okay, I hope there isn't an interview with the 'victims' or anything or else the following argument will lose its basis. .__.)

Anyways, the woman and children might be totally satisfied with living there, after all they've known that way of living all their life. They don't know anything else. Suddenly they're being 'forced' by those 'helping' people, that think that their morals are the right ones, and that they're doing this for the (greater good'.

How old was the woman again? 40 or so? And she was 11 when she was held 'hostage' in the basement? Couldn't she make an logical assesment that that wasn't usually allowed in today's society, and just... leave? I think every 10/11-year old knows that having sex with your mom or dad is not viewed as 'normal' today. So yeah, if she didn't want to she could yell or scream or something, and then the wife of the guy would hear it. Or she could escape and go to the cops or... someone! I mean seriously, don't tell me there wasn't even 1 chance to escape in all those years?

Okay, and let's say she only came to that realization of making love with your daddy is wrong after she had a baby. She wanted security perhaps? How was she going to take care of that child? Who was prepared to take care of it? She was probably still a teen and was insecure and didn't know where to go for help, if she indeed wanted to get away. Also the teenage moms care system or w/e it's called wasn't quite as developed then as it was now.

Or maybe she didn't want to be ridiculed by having a baby of her father, if she escaped? She really loved him perhaps? She didn't want her father to get into prison, that's why she stayed? And there are so many other possibilities.

As for the father, the most likely case scenario would be, he loved his daughter... too much perhaps. He spoiled her, and hugged/tickled her and all that, and one day he realizes he loved her, as in something more as a daughter. That would be a shock to anyone, and it kinda just happens. So, there are two choices, either go with it, or distance yourself. He took the former.

So, he could never tell his wife, that's for sure, she definitely wouldn't allow it and call the cops or something. So he made this whole facade of her missing, no? Correct me, if I'm wrong. While in the meantime, he spent time with his 'beloved', and getting his groove on? 🤣 Well, one thing led to another, there came babies... lots of them. And a) either she loved him back, and it's all lovey-dovey or b) she didn't love him back, and he took one of the children as hostage if she ever wanted to leave him, and hoped that she'll turn around and see what a great guy he is or the less important c), w/e that may be. ... Oh~, that rhymed.

Well, and the baby burning thing? He already was in deep shit, so what was the best way to hide the dead body? Burn it, of course. If you bury it, there's still a slight chance that it may be found years later to haunt you, and if you throw it in a river or something, it might get discovered by someone, like that one girl on Oprah that killed her child and threw it in a river or something.

My reason for explaining the man's motivation? That he's just a person just like me and you, and that he wouldn't have kept his daughter in the basement in the first place, if society wasn't so close-minded; that is if the daughter agreed to it. (Say "No!" to non-consensual relationships, mmkay kids?!) Though not as close-minded as the Dark Ages, but we're getting there... someday! There's so much more I probably forgot to mention or am too lazy to, but you do/think what you want of this post.

Hah, I've read it, Doc. And I'll just straighten some things you wrote. She was 11 when her father started to molest her. She was 18, when he took her 'hostage' into that basement. And the basement was soundproofed. Plus the entrance was automatic or something and you could open it only from the outside, I think.

I read it!

And would reply to it but imma be late for school.

Quick facts - she was 18, not 11.

And I'm sure rape makes it fine for the daddy. :]

BTW she did escape once in 1994 but he caught her and forced her back. He also told her he booby trapped so if she attempted to escape, the room would explode.

I'm out now.

Still, 30 years is a looooong~ time to just sit on your bum. I think some Dave Chappelle is approriate. You should watch it from 2:00.

So, there wasn't an interview? Yes, my arguments have been salvaged! 🤣

Anyways, my point is that you don't suddenly have to view the guy as something that came from the pits of Hell. ... He's human, just like us.

Ugh, I'm making myself sick. -.-

Props to Layhe and Dubby! ;P

Course he's human, but he's also a twisted and psychotic person. Did you not read the reports for him? He had no remorse for what he did. Also the woman was so messed up that she said that she wouldn't talk if she wasn't assured that she would NEVER see her father again. If that is love, then my concept of love is skewered. You can't explain the motivation because you are not a psychatrist and currently not even the psychatrists can explain it. (i'd go into more detail if i had more time =/ but I be leaving now).

Props for the long post I would've prolly gone nuts writing so much >.<'' (and don't I looove creeping you out 😛 ...but I won't change my opinion 🙂 )

Welcome to the realm of one-sidedness, giant posts and flaming against Fritz.
Soo he's a sex offender. He raped his daughter at 11, and locked her up at 18. Can you even imagine what's worse than being raped by your own father at an age when you probably are still in the phrase when you're grossed out by sex?
He might be human like everyone else, he might have his own reasons but rape is still rape no matter how you look at it. And the guy locked her up and basically destroyed her youth. That's the most frightening thing I can think of, and add that to the constant rape and..oh well.

The media does exaggerate but let's strip this to the barebones, shall we? So we've got a father who locked his daughter in the basement for 24 years. Even if everything else is invented, this is still a serious crime. He made a mistake, he probably even regretted it, and I agree he kept her in fear of getting reported to the police. But why did he keep on raping her and leaving her pregnant so many times?

Anyways, the woman and children might be totally satisfied with living there, after all they've known that way of living all their life. They don't know anything else. Suddenly they're being 'forced' by those 'helping' people, that think that their morals are the right ones, and that they're doing this for the (greater good'.

I don't doubt the children were content, not knowing anything else. Yet think of what this isolation did to their psychic. I'd say they're almost socially crippled having so little interaction with the outside world.

She couldn't. It's a soundproofed, secure basement and I doubt she ever had the strength to attack her father and get out. So you're implying that she WANTED to stay there? 0_o... If someone locked you up somewhere, wouldn't you try to get out? Of course that in a few weeks you'd lose any hope
but still you'd make a few serious attempts...with nothing else better to do all day.

I see your logic, but she was still 18 then and obviously knew that staying there was much horrible for the child than being out in the unknown.
I think she probably feared reporting her father after all. Good point there 😃 I have to agree on this, running away might've meant leaving her kids behind, that's probably the only reason I can think of why she didn't leave.

Oh~, that rhymed.

I agree, most of the time for incest rape that's the main reason. Excessive love. He might've been blinded and thought that keeping her there meant keeping her "safe" but the idea of her loving him back is just ridiculous, unless it's Stockholm syndrome, but from what I've read there were no signs that the woman regretted being freed.

. If she agreed to it, they could've even run away or continue like that in the outer world.
But he still locked her up, raped her and DIDN'T USE A FREAKING CONDOM. For christ's sake, he could've avoided a lot by using a damn condom. The second idea just doesn't make sense...if she ran away, how could Fritz harm one of the children? Wouldn't that be like spilling it all out?
And even if it was consensual, it's still a sick, twisted and harming relationship to both of them and the kids.
Those kids, asides from being socially crippled, are also born from an incestuous relationship. Consensual incest is perfectly fine, but children are a huge no-no. Hemophilia, albinism, muscular system diseases, daltonism, blue skin and lots of other problems.
I was pretty surprised they didn't mention anything in the news about this..

My reason for explaining the man's motivation? That he's just a person just like me and you, and that he wouldn't have kept his daughter in the basement in the first place, if society wasn't so close-minded; that is if the daughter agreed to it. (Say "No!" to non-consensual relationships, mmkay kids?!) Though not as close-minded as the Dark Ages, but we're getting there... someday!

In my entire life of watching 5 o'clock news with husbands beating up their wives with axes, I've never heard something remotely close. That's not normal by any standard, modern or ancient. Probably it happened a lot more in the ancient times, but it's 21st century now <_<
As I said, it might be a case of double personality, as in his regular life he was a bit stiff and withdrawn but still not completely normal. I think this is where schizoid elements came up, see the part where the news say he was very detached and cold while talking
His second personality (which I guess wasn't well-defined at all, but it was like something that "activated" everytime he saw his daughter), was the more problematic one with the borderline personality disorder.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borderline_personality_disorder

It's a known factor in abusive relationships if I remeber correctly.

The baby burning was probably something related more to cleaning it up, it's not like it was alive then. 😃

Well like I said above, also as far as psychiatrists interviewed have said, there was no sense of Stockholm syndrome in the woman or the children. It was sort of a defeated hopelessness, they never try because they believe they would never escape. This is all on CNN, watch the videos. Also if the mother had loved her father, she wouldn't have planted that letter in her son's pocket when he was sent to the hospital, which led to their escape. This is just all the facts picked up from CNN.

But thanks Dr. Love, you made this post interesting again 😛
