Me likey last.fm - it's a nice way to find new artists to listen to.
Some occasional last.fm radio for background music is okay too.

Yeah I think you have to have like 100 or 150 songs played I think, that's when it generates the first top lists if I remember correctly... after that it generates it about once a week. There should be better information about this on the site somewhere.

My last.fm

Thanks to this, I'm starting to listen to artists I normally wouldn't listen to or find artists that I liked at one time and would like to listen to again.

I did for a long time. But having the client and iTunes open at the same time annoyed me. Plus, I found that having to tag everything correctly destroyed me, because there were sometimes two or three pages for an artist, etc. And you can use the radio without an account anyways to find new artists. mostly, I found that I was checking my profile way too often.

It recommends you music based on what you listen to, and what other people who listen to the same things you do also listen to.

I have an account that I never bother to use, mostly because I dont listen to music on my computer that much.

I love it ... I like to look at the charts about myself xD
even if I don't really use it to discover new music.......

A word of warning. Your stats can get very skewed if you get drunk and fall asleep with a short-ish playlist on repeat.

Just make sure that the program is working and then listen to music that you know you like. I dont recommend having the program run when trying out new music...since it defeats the purpose of using it in the first place since it will make your results less accurate.
