Hey,

I was looking for a manga where the protagonist is a child born from rape, thus leading to a very difficult relationship with his/her mother. Ideally, I was hoping to find something where the mother is absolutely horrible to her child (the protagonist) in the beginning and the child has no idea why until they learn the truth later on. It's okay if they already know the truth too. Finally, I want to see character development where the mother learns to put aside her conflicted feelings, love her child, and actually show her affection; and the main character comes to understand the kind of trauma that their mother had to go through and appreciate the tremendous strength it took to raise him/her and get past how they were treated growing up.

I want something where the mother/child relationship is a central conflict in the mange, and a lot of the main character's angst kind of stems from that. I'm not picky about whether it's shoujo or not, just as long as it's something that's complex and not one dimensional.

Apologies for the complicated request - I would be much obliged if anyone could help me find something like this =)

Well here's the search of mangas with the tag child born from rape. There's only 8 series listed and only the 1st two are not completely scanlated.

The only ones I've was Deep Love - Reina no Unmei and Kaikan Phrase. The 1st deals more with the mother and not from the kid's point of view. The 2nd forces the couple, and I can't remember how the tag fits .... but since I can't remember it must not have been the main focus of the story.

Hopefully someone knows a manga that hasn't been tagged yet, and posts it here. Good luck on your search.

In Kaikan Phrase, Sakuya, the male lead, is the child of rape. The main focus of the story is of course the romance, but as I recall he is shaped by his mother's despair and rejection.
