Nope. Some of my friends watch a couple of animes and such, but the number of otakus I actually know besides me is none.

No. I'm the only one who reads (manga or anything) in my family. And I don't plan to convert anyone. They do watch anime though.

I try to get my sister a bit more into anime (she likes some, but not as much as me) but I only have a couple of friends who like anime and only one who likes manga, the rest of them avoid talking about it.

remembers something prepare for a long story:
-well i'm on my school's badminton team and we were playing "never have i ever"....it was mostly like "never have i ever kissed someone...had a boyfriend, etc." someone said "never have i ever read yaoi" and i was the only one who had to put my finger down...then everyone was like wtf O.O then that (stupid) girl had to explain that yaoi is a manga containing boyxboy...now i'm like officially shunned (is that a word?) ><

Yes, I did have a succssesfull attempt.
A good friend of mine, didn't want anything to do with manga, because "somebody" told her it's boring.
I said that you can judge by someone like that, and you need to read more than one... It's like with books, just because you might not like a certain book, doesn't mean all books are bad/boring etc.

Although now she can't get enough of big-eyed-shoujo... That drives me insane.. She won't read anything else than "girl meets boy, girl falls in love with boy who doesn't give a damn about her"... 🤢
Its like talking to a wall sometimes>.< Now I need to convert her from shoujo... sigh

Not that there is anything wrong with shoujo... just the fact that she won't agree reading anything else>>...
