Natsume Yuujinchou as at least two other people recommended!

07 Ghost seems to fits, but I kinda lost track of the plotline.

Witch Hunter. The main character, along with the dude with the sunglasses, are both people who hide behind smiles.

Tousei Gensou Hakubutsushi - it's not that he hides behind a smile, but he does have (and it seems to be this way) a tragic past from the chapters that have been scanlated. He gives off more of a mysterious aura.

Cappuccino. I think this one definitely fits. The boyfriend cheats on the girlfriend because he's just way too nice, and she hides her pain underneath a smile. I definitely recommend this one!

Second Pandora Hearts and third (fourth?) Natsume Yuujinchou since those are two of my most favorite manga.

Ciel <== Although the Main Female lead may appears to be be just a pretty airhead, she's actually very intelligent and hides it behind a smile.

Siesta <== Main Female lead is very tolerant and good at adapting to any situation, and even when she's sad, she keeps hiding it behind a smile to not trouble the people around her.
